Hello to all [Splinterlands](https://ecency.com/post/@leoglossary/what-is-splinterlands) players! this is my entry for  [Social Media Challenge!](https://ecency.com/hive-13323/@splinterlands/splinterlands-weekly-curation-challange-march-28-2023#/re-splinterlands-rscljh) this time I want to talk about my battle in Champion League Using the monster Forgotten One who fight Agor Longtail, high mana cost monster with amazing stat. Forgotten One got help from other teammates but without this monster, I think we will be lost.
I played with my scholar account from Balthazar.

The guide presents a strategy on how to advance through the ranks by utilizing reasonably priced or cheap-to-rent monsters that can still prove effective.

# <center>Ruleset</center>

- Odds One Out, only monsters with odd mana can be used for example monsters with 1 or 3 or 5 mana, etc.
- Briar patch, all monsters have the ability Thorns.
 Ability Thorns, every time you receive an attack from a melee-type monster it will give 2 damage to the attacker.
- Up Close & Personal, only melee attack type monsters can be used.
- Mana Cap 43.
- Elements can be used Fire and Dragon only.

# <center>My Lineup and strategy</center>

We will first talk a bit about the ruleset :
The Guidelines
- Up Close and Personal, I think this is the most important of the 3 rulesets in this battle. we can choose monsters/summoners with several abilities such as:
    - Piercing, if Melee or Ranged attack damage is in excess of the target's Armor, the remainder will damage the target's Health
    - Shield, damage from melee monsters reduced by half.
    - Demoralize, the damage of all melee monsters is reduced by 1,
    - Enrage, a monster whose HP decreases will increase its damage and attack, one of the abilities that are very useful for reducing enemy HP quickly when our monsters are in danger.
   - Retaliate, in melee vs melee battles I think this is a very good ability because it makes our monsters appear as if they can attack several times in 1 round and deal damage to several enemies that attack them.
- Briar patch, in this battle I think better if we can bring several monster with armor, the effect of thorns will hit the armor first.

|Summoner/monster and Abilities|Description|
|------------|------------|
|     Conqueor Jacek, our Summoner From Fire element. |Add Speed +2 to all friendly monsters, and add Piercing and Scattershot abilities (this ability only for range or magic type attack monsters) to all friendly monsters.|
|     Forgotten One,1st  position, attacker and tanker, has the ability Immunity, Retaliate, and Piercing. |We put this monster in the first position because apart from its HP, attack, and large armor, it also has the ability to Pierce and Retaliate. Piercing, if you destroy the enemy armor, then the remaining attacks from our monsters after deducting the armor will hit the HP of the monster. Retaliate, there is a 50% chance it will counterattack if attacked by melee-type monsters. The weakness of the monster's speed is not too big. With the help of the summoner, Jacek will help increase his speed. |
| Radiated Brute, 2nd position, attacker, has the ability to reach and enrage.|Placed in the 2nd position because with the ability Reach you can attack from this position, and the attacks from this monster are high. The enrage ability will increase the damage and speed of this monster when its HP decreases. Unfortunately, this monster's HP is small, so usually when it's Enrage ability is active this monster won't last long and dies from being attacked by enemy monsters. |

|  Legionnaire Alvar, 3rd position, attacker, tanker, and support, has the abilities Void Armor, Giant Killer, Demoralize, and deathblow.|Placed in 3rd position as the 2nd tanker if the attacking monster in front of him dies, in this position this monster cannot attack, can only attack if it is in first position. Has a very useful support ability in the Up, Close, and Personal rulesets, namely demoralize. This ability can reduce all melee monster damage by 1. |

|   Disintegrator, 4th position, attacker, tanker and Support, has the abilities Demoralize, Trample, Knockout and Retaliate.|Almost similar to the Forgotten One but the HP, attack, and armor are all smaller, so they are not suitable for use as the main attacker/tanker. This monster is used primarily because it has the ability Demoralize. The Retaliate and Trample abilities (if you succeed in killing an enemy you will immediately attack the enemy behind them) are actually also very useful in the Up, Close, and Personal rulesets, unfortunately, these monsters are too weak in attack, so they can rarely kill enemies. It is more suitable to be placed in this position so that it is safe from enemy attacks, in this position this monster cannot attack, it can only attack when it is in the first position.|

|Tenyii Striker, 5th position, Attacker and backline tanker, has the abilities Sneak, Dodge, and Backfire.|Placed in 5th position as a tanker because it has high speed, and the backfire ability is very useful for attacking enemies. Ability Backfire makes the enemy receive 2 damage if the attack doesn't hit Tenyii Striker (miss). Tenyii Strikers with the ability Sneak (attacks monsters in the last position) can attack from this position. As an attacker, he has high damage of 5.|

|Radiated Scorcher, 6th position, Tanker, has the ability to shatter.| In this position this monster cannot attack, its goal is only as a tanker holding back the attack as long as possible so that the Tenyii Striker in fifth position does not receive an attack.|

# <center>The Battle</center>

The battle begins with buffs and debuffs from both sides.
The enemy uses a monster that has a very large Attack, HP and Armor, namely Agor Longtail. In addition, he has the ability Flying (which can increase the chance of avoiding archer and melee attacks by 25%
Has a very disturbing ability, which is Heal, and this time it is also backed up by Byzantine Kitty, so it has a double Heal ability, another Byzantine Kitty ability is the enemy monster attacks cannot miss, and all enemy speed increases by 2.
Agor Longtail also has a type of magic attack besides melee, Taunt's ability makes us have to kill this monster first before we can attack other monsters.
We have a very difficult battle this time, fortunately, we brought double Demoralize monsters while the enemy only brought 1 monster with the ability Demoralize. With 2 monsters with the ability Demoralize, we can see that the damage of enemy monsters' melee attacks is reduced a lot.
- Our Side :
   - Radiated Scorcher dies under attack by enemy Tenyii Striker.
   - Radiated Brute takes Thorns' effect when attacking Agor and activates his enrage ability causing his attack to 5 and speed to 9.

   Because of the Thorns ruleset, all monsters will receive damage from the Thorns effect every time they attack an enemy.

- Enemy Side :
   - The Radiated Brute dies from a counterattack from the Forgotten One who activates his Retaliate ability.

In this round, we can see the effectiveness of the retaliate ability in killing enemies, as well as the Piercing ability, which in several attacks only leaves Agor Longtail's HP at 6.

Our Side :
- The Forgotten One died receiving Thorns effect from Agor Longtail.
- Tenyii Strike who received continuous attacks from Uraeus and the enemy's Tenyii Striker only had 1 HP remaining.

Enemy Side :
- Even though Double Heal has helped, at the end of this round, Agor Longtail's HP is only 1 left.

Enemy Side :
- The round is opened with Byzantine Kitty's Heal ability which restores Agor Longtail's HP from 1 to 5.
- Agor Longtail is killed by Radiated Brute which has 5 damage after the Enrage ability is active.
- Uraeus dies from the effects of thorns when attacking Tenyii Striker.
- Tenyii Striker was killed by Legionnaire Alvar

Our Side :
- Radiated Brute dies from Thorns' effect when attacking Agor Longtail.
- Tenyii Striker was killed by Uraeus.

Rounds 4-6 :

There were only 2 monsters left from both sides and the battle was uninteresting as only Legionnaire Alvar and the enemy Disintegrator exchanged blows.
So we skip straight to round 6 where finally the enemy Disintegrator dies even though he has been assisted by Byzantinne Kitty's heal.

The enemy Radiated Scorcher dies from being hit by Thorn when attacking Legionnaire Alvar.
With the Radiated Scorcher dead the victory is on our side

# <center> Did your strategy work? </center>
Our strategy by using 2 monsters who have the ability Demoralize has succeeded in reducing enemy damage. With the help of our summoner and Forgotten One's Retaliate and Piercing abilities, as well as the enrage of the Radiated Brute, we managed to defeat Agor Longtail who has very large HP and Armor and is assisted by Double Heal.
With Agor Longtail dead we easily managed to defeat the other attackers.
