Hello friends,
we all want to live in a better place where security, basic amenities, peace and good standard of living will be guaranteed. This will be a day dreaming if nobody wants to take responsibility of making things right. Bearing in mind that a community or society is not just a group of people living in a particular area of land or village but also a group of people, club or organization with common interest. This could be both physical (like in the village) or visual (social media platform like Hive community). 

To build the community of your dream, you need to take a step. This may be in form of support where you feel there is vacuum. Encouraging others to follow suit is another step. You will agree with me that procrastination is the ‘progenitor’ of indecision and indecision is the graveyard of good dreams and intentions. Do you have good plans on making your local community, organization or hive community a better place and you do not know where to start? Just take a step as far as it is a good plan, you will be amazed by the result. You might be thinking of the ‘antagonists’ when you take a step but you have to understand that people will not appreciate your effort without result, even the beneficiaries of what you want to do may be the first to castigate you. When you do it with the mindset of trying to make a change, you will be rewarded at the end. 

Taking responsibility and stop shifting blames are good ways of building the community of your dream. Imagine everyone presents a template of blame game, who will be responsible? Can we claim to be responsible without accepting a single responsibility-of course we are not. Then how do we go about it? Simply start taking responsibility in that small organization you are or even your home otherwise you won’t be able to do so in a larger society. It may interest you to know that people that blame others are those that only wait for result not how the result will come. So, if you want to make a change you have to make things happen don’t wait for them to happen to you.

Have a plan and look from a positive side of things. You need to have  a good plan on how you want to make a change in your organization or community. You have little or nothing to do to make a change if you have negative perceptions of where you are. You may be a joker if you dream of a better society or organization but your disposition towards it is negative. Also, proper plans will make other people to buy your ideas but do well not to reveal them to naysayers. There is this popular adage which says ‘’if you fail to plan then you plan to fail’’ that is just it.

Invest in people and engage them in productive activities. Those that you help grow today will be the advocates of better society you are expecting tomorrow. Not everyone has the ability to endure harsh situation, some people can easily change their good motives when they see situation that is not favorable to them. That is the reason why there are many hooligans and criminals in our society today. You can invest in people around you by teaching them how to make legitimate money, pay their school fees or vocational training fees and lot more. The people you fail to build today may be the nuisance tomorrow.

Lastly, invest in knowledge. This is the best gift you can give anyone around you that will not be taken away from them. While other forms of assistance may be temporary, knowledge stands for a test of time and the good thing about it is that it can be passed to next generation. Therefore, to build the society or community of your dream, you need to take a step within your ability, avoid blaming others and procrastination, invest in people around you within the limit of your capacity and take responsibility </div>
