The mainstream is dump, they will (and don't want) understand how Bitcoin or  other crypto's  work. Most of them just want to have a fast, cheap and easy way to send money all that hardfork, softfork and so on gets so much complex once you start reading that most of the "normal" people will stop it.  

The biggest problem, is still that it is a pain in the ass to buy bitcoin and that is the main thing that crypto's are not being accepted by the mainstream.
