New World, New Problems, and Even Dumber Villagers

Do you also think that the best part of a sandbox game like Minecraft is starting a new world and admiring the beauty of your unique, randomly generated world that likely nobody has ever seen before? For me, it's one of the most fun parts of the game: when you're new and the world loads in front of your eyes, and those first few seconds where you see the spawn area—which biome you're in, whether there are animals around, big caves, or perhaps a vast ocean. That's the beauty of such procedurally generated worlds in video games.

Why I'm talking about this because just today, we were testing a new way to host a multiplayer server. My earlier attempts failed due to port forwarding issues with my ISP. So, I found out about the next best thing, using playit.gg, and after some tweaks, it worked! Let me show you the beautiful spawn location we got with this random world.

The spawn biome I like the most is the plains. It gives us plenty of open space to look around, you can easily make your base there without much terraforming, and the best part is that traversing and finding structures like villages and other biomes are fairly easy. So, when I saw this biome, it was a good feeling. We were greeted by a little family of horses. (I think they are horses, not mules, but I'm not too sure how they look in this shader pack.)

It looked even better at night. But the nights are quite dangerous in the early game, so we just mined for the first couple of nights.

There are so many narrow water channels running throughout this biome. They seem very shallow from the surface, but when you go into them, some are quite deep.

I like how the shader adds those light rays inside the water. It may not look like an underwater scene from the still image, but in motion, it's very convincing with those beautiful light effects.

Self-hosting a server has many benefits compared to using a free hoster with multiple restrictions. One of them is the ability to bump up the view distance, so we can see a lot more chunks at the same time. Bumping it up revealed a village to us in the distance. It wasn't too far from our spawn, and the fact that it was on high elevation helped us spot it.

But with elevation comes a new problem. Ice! It was not a snow-themed village, but just a normal one on the plains, but unfortunately, it spawned on the edge of the snow biome.

This made the village unique but very dangerous for the dumb villagers. We heard a couple of them sinking in the loose snow and slowly suffocating and dying. They were just trying to hang around their house, little did they know, their routes had deadly ice traps. We had to imprison a couple of them in their own house for their safety; otherwise, all of them would be dead. They will be given much harsher punishment than a slow, cold death.

From this location, we saw a new, even larger village. Only one house was visible from the village initially, but going closer revealed an entire village. It almost looked like two different villages nearby.

This seemed like a normal village. No snow here, so the villagers were a bit safer here. But I am sure they will even find a way to kill themselves if left alone. Somehow they eventually do xD.

One of them was the Socrates of the village, who seemed to be in deep thought. He stared at the chimney for a straight 5 minutes. Whatever he was thinking must have been very profound.

This has become our thinking spot now. If we ever need a new building idea, we have to come here and think. Maybe this chimney is sending some divine messages, who knows?

This is a perfect start for a new world. We're not sure how this series will go; maybe it will turn into a creative world, maybe we will try a hardcore challenge soon. But until then, we'll just try to have fun and explore more. Maybe look for a good place to settle down, preferably near the alleged divine chimney.
