A Second Time

Sometimes, all we need to do to see things a bit more clearly and have a better understanding of things is having a second look at whatever situation that thing is.

Whenever I have guests over at my place, I'm always reluctant to turn on my television and this is because I no longer subscribe my cable, due to the fact that we barely have power supply over here and I could end up watching a month subscription just five times a month due to the lack of power supply. So what I do mostly is get a flash drive, put as much movie as I can see in it and just watch them when I'm less busy.

The only downside to that is that you might end up watching the same movie twice if you don't frequently put in new movies in the flash drive, and being the kind of guy that I am that hates seeing a movie twice, I always make sure to put new movies in the flash drive or I just don't turn on the television at all.

But whenever I have guests over, I'm forced to turn it on, even when I don't have anything new there that I myself haven't seen, because depending on the guest, I wouldn't want an awkward silence and would prefer that we both have our attention on something else when we've run out of things to say to each other.

Unfortunately, it is during moments like that, that I'm forced to rewatch a movie I had previously seen because the guest hasn't seen it yet. And I won't lie, I used to not enjoy it because I already knew about the plot and everything concerning the movie, so there's no excitement to it..but recently, I've been paying attention when I rewatch these movies and I get fascinated everytime because I realized that I had unintentionally missed a lot of details the first time.

Basically, I've come to realize that watching a movie the second time tends to help you see and understand better certain things you must have missed the first time. It's amazing the amount of details we miss the first time we see a movie and never go back to it again, simply because to us, we feel that those little details do not matter as long as we have a general idea of how the movie went, sometimes we don't even know we missed something...

But in reality, those little details we missed are what makes the movie a lot more interesting and also gives us a better understanding of what we're watching.

And of course, this also applies to our day to day lives too. Sometimes before we act, it's best to calm down and just think about the entire situation all over again for a second time, you just might have a second opinion.

I also agree that seeing the movie for the second time can help you understand things better than the first time, and this applies to me. It's the same in real life. When it comes to my little brother, it won't work as his observation is very sharp, and the second time won't make any difference to him.
