Stuffed dumplings or Modak!
*Hello hiveans! Hope all are doing good and enjoying the life with their loved ones.* 

Today I came up with the recipe of **Modak or we can say stuffed Dumplings**. Actually this dish is made on festive occasion like Ganesha chaturthi, 56 bhog or Diwali etc. You must be thinking that modak is made by the steaming process. Yes you are right. But this is fried Modak which is prepared by steaming process. That's why we can keep this Froed Modak for 3 to 4 days in a air tight Container. 
I made these Modak for my **56 bhog** on the occasion of GOPASHTAMI which I mentioned in my blog.

**So let's start the process**

**Ingredients**
•plain flour- 300gm
•jaggery- 150gm
•desiccated coconut- 200gm
•crushed Cashews and almonds- 50gm
•cardamon powder- 1 teaspoon.

● First we will make the stuffings.

1.So in a pan or kadhai mix grated coconut powder or desiccated coconut powder, cardamon powder, crushed almonds, cashews and jaggery. Roast all them for 5 mins till the coconut is  cooked.

2.add more coconut if you want. I need some more here so I added.

3.Mix all well. Cook for 5 mins.

4.Transfer it in a plate and let it cool.

5.Now in a platter add all purpose flour or if you want to make these modak from Wheat flour it's OK, you can. Then add ghee or melted butter. Rub all the ingredients in between your palms so that the ghee will mix up well. Then add a pinch of salt and knead a hard tight dough by mixing required water. Then Cover the dough and set aside for 10 mins. Divide the dough into small equal parts.

6.Flatten a ball, and roll to a chapati that not thick or thin. Make a shape of small puris shown in the pic.

7.place the mixture in the center of the chapati.

8.now begin to make pleats from one side to another as shown in the pic. Bring all the pleats together and join them as shown in the pic.

9.Heat oil in a kadhai. When the oil is meduim hot then slide the modak into oil and fry them.  Don't stir immediately for a while and later stir and fry them on meduim flame till golden and crisp.

10.Transfer all the modaks into tissue and let it cool. Later store them in a ir tight Container.

I'm so curious about traditional dishes, this seems really a good dish for Diwali, unfortunately I don't know much about Indian celebration but in curious about it, the dumplings looks super, it's one of my favourite dish, I always eat then when I visit Asian or Indian restaurants!!🤩🤩

Oh, glad to know that. These are sweet dumpling and can be store for 2 to 4 days and it is favorite food of Lord Ganesha. I will soon share a recipe of steaming Modaks too. Thanks for stopping by 😊
