If you may have noticed, I love to write list articles and if you'd dig a little bit more, you'll find that it is not only me but the majority of people love to read list articles for various reasons. It is hard to find the articles that are not written in the form of a list (excluding Steemit).

If you ask me the reason why I love to write list articles, I'd answer that it's because Google loves list articles and the chances of getting them ranked on the first page are much higher. If list articles are posted with the right keyword and if proper link building strategies are used, Google will probably look into your content. For some reasons, Google pays more attention to articles that start with "10 ways" or "25 ways". 

It's an indication that Google loves lengthy articles. Can you imagine how much efforts it would take to write an article where you are required to include at least one paragraph for each way. That means the length would be a minimum of 1,500 words and could even go as high as 5,000 words. In fact, the bigger is the length of your article, the greater will be the chances of getting it ranked because of some in-text natural keywords that you'd unintentionally use in your article.

But have you noticed that why Google pays attention to such things? That's because Google's audience now demands listicles (list articles are known as listicles). You may be wondering the reason why people are in love with listicles, right? Let's discuss some of the biggest reasons for their love with listicles.

<h2><b># 1 - Easiness In Reading:</b></h2>

Imagine that if it was a traditional article, you'd have to read the whole article just to know that I am now talking about easiness in reading. The great thing about listicles is that you can scroll down the page and read the headings at first then decide whether you should give a read or skip any specific part of the article.

In a traditional article, you'll find that people include useless words just to increase the length while listicles give writers an opportunity describe each item in 1-2 paragraphs and move to next with sequence. More importantly, readers become able to read the article with a sequence. 

<h2><b># 2 - Ability To Resume Reading:</b></h2>

Imagine once again that if it was a traditional article, you'd have to count the paragraphs just to remember the point to resume from. And if you forget that point later, you'll have to go through the whole article once again to read what you wanted to.

In case of listicles, it is easy to remember the point and resume from where you left. That's because of self-explanatory line in the headings that pretty much tell the story of what you are going to read. If you've stopped reading after reading 2nd reason in this article, you can easily remember that you left the 2nd reason (and don't need to bother with counting the paragraphs). Easy to catch up.

<h2><b># 3 - More Informative and Effective Than Traditional Articles:</b></h2>

When you are promised that you will learn 25 ways for something, you'll feel much more excited than a traditional article where the subject line seems dull. They are less likely to attract much attention as compared to listicles. Oh don't get me wrong, traditional articles are great but in comparison to listicles, I believe that list articles are more effective.

Imagine how informative would be that article where you could learn 25 ways of doing one thing. More often than not, you will end up using at least 1 of those 25 ways because it is highly expected that you'll find a suitable way to do things from that giant article, without jumping from here to there.

I don't have enough spare time nowadays and that's one of the biggest reasons why I limit myself to 3 or 5 list items. Not only the listicles are informative for readers, but also for writers. I can't express in words how much I learned in the journey of writing those list articles.
