Reading and learning is an activity that we can't stop engaging because new things keep unfolding every day and we keep discovering new ideas on a daily base as long as we are still alive. But then as a student that we are, we have different methods suitable for us to read books these methods are what we will be looking into today and to know how effective they are to our learning.

# The hard and soft copy.

### Soft copy

80 percent of students and learners today choose to handle the soft copies of their books this means having a software version of a physical book either in a portable document format (PDF), Electronic book(e-book) or Microsoft documents (docs) that is stored on a portable device which you can easily access anywhere anything as long as you have your devices with you.

### Hard copy 

Just like the name implies, this is a hardware version of a book which is also regarded as a **real copy**
Of a book one you can see and touch with your hands. A few learners do own a hard copy of books this is due to their choices on how they want to study.

This are just a few points I could summarize but they are so many other features that you can think of too that makes you prefer one over another.

But before speaking on my own opinions on which copy i prefer most i will now have to state some of the disadvantages and advantages of these copies.

Hard copies are best for a student who really wants to dedicate her time to learning because on a hard copy you van easily flip through pages with confidence on like the soft copy where you tap and swipe on the screen or click on the mouse while reading to get things done. The physical book gives you confidence and builds your focus to the book with no distractions.  

Imagine reading on your phone and then a message pops in from discord saying 2000 HIVES to be won on the coming hive learners contest, God knows i am done reading for the day and it's time to hop in to hive learners discord server to get the full gist 😁😂.

What I'm trying to say is that the devices sometimes happen to be a form of distraction when reading like sometimes when i'm reading on the phone i might end up saying*"omor dollar don rise o" which means the value of dollar has risen in my crypto wallet. They are too many distractions when i look a reading on probably a smart phone.

But i love the software version of a book because you can duplicate it and distribute to a million people without anyone paying money for it. In fact if a book is too expensive for me i look for a hard copy from a friend and make my own soft copy of the book and share it with my fellow broke colleagues who dont have money to buy the hard copy😂.

On a mobile phone or laptop you can have a million books which you can easily carry around but you dare not carry even a hundred hard copies around no one does that.

# conclusion

Putting my judgement into conclusion i do go for the hard copies of a book but only when it becomes too expensive or probably too big to carry then i will be left no choice that to go for its soft copy.
