It is not easy sometimes to deal with what we fear, what we feel uncomfortable with and, despite that, we cannot change, we have not been able to change or we don't know how to change it.

Fear has basically three responses: fleeing, paralyzing or fighting. There are situations in life that lead us to feel this. With this issue of weight and food I felt all three.

At times I have been paralyzed not knowing what to do or how to do it, I have used my mind to avoid or run away from the issue of what I have to do to improve my physical and emotional health and I have struggled with the thought that I might not be able to do what I want to do and I will feel a little disappointed about it.

No es fácil a veces lidiar con aquello que tememos, aquello con lo que nos sentimos incómodos y, a pesar de eso, no podemos cambiar, no hemos podido cambiar o no sabemos cómo cambiarlo.

El miedo tiene básicamente tres respuestas: huir, paralizarse o luchar. Hay situaciones en la vida que nos llevan a sentir esto. Con este tema del peso y la comida yo sentí los tres.

En ocasiones me he paralizado no sabiendo qué hacer o cómo hacerlo, he utilizado mi mente para evitar o huir del tema de los arreglos que tengo que hacer para mejorar mi salud física y emocional y he luchado con ese pensamiento de que a lo mejor no logre hacer lo que quiero y me sentiré un poco defraudada al respecto.

It took courage on my part to propose this topic and talk about my personal experience, what I have done and what I have not done while going through this process. However, I believe that my experience was small in front of so many beautiful stories of life, overcoming, courage and fortitude to tell their experiences, their struggles and their support.

It is no secret that this topic is one of those very personal and sometimes sensitive (depending on the circumstances) issues for many of us.

I was moved to read you friends, I identified with some of you and I admire many of you tremendously. I have received a positive recharge of love, acceptance, strength, endurance and courage from all of you who joined this initiative on food, weight and feelings.

De mi parte requirió valor proponer este tema y hablarles acerca de mi experiencia personal, lo que hecho y lo que no atravesando ese proceso. Sin embargo, creo que mi experiencia se quedó pequeña delante de tantas historias hermosas de vida, superación, valor y entereza para contar sus vivencias, sus luchas y sus apoyos.

Para nadie es un secreto que este tema es uno de esos temas muy personales y en ocasiones sensible (dependiendo de las circunstancias) para muchos de nosotros.

Me conmovió leerles amigos, a la vez que me sentí identificada con algunos y admire tremendamente a varios de ustedes. He recibido una recarga positiva de amor, aceptación, fortaleza, aguante y valentía de parte de todos los que se unieron a esta iniciativa sobre la comida, el peso y los sentimientos.

Thank you for teaching us through your posts that life is much more than a good body, that words no matter how "funny" or "without bad intentions" can have an effect that lasts for years in someone and even condition the way they see themselves and, finally, that self-love can do more than we think or imagine.

They made me think about those things we want to do to stay on the path of constant learning in an emotional and physical sense.

Another thing that surprised me was that many of you expressed that you felt discharged by being able to write what you thought and your experience, as a catharsis of that topic, it was like freeing yourself from those experiences that each one of you had to live. What you have done for me means that you have taken a step forward towards personal wellbeing.

Gracias por enseñarnos a través de sus post que la vida es mucho más que un buen cuerpo, que las palabras por muy "graciosas" o "sin mala intención" pueden tener un efecto que dure años en alguien y hasta le condicione la forma en que se ve a sí misma y, finalmente, que el amor propio puede hacer más de lo que pensamos o imaginamos.
