The 17th of february, exactly 14 days from today, marked the three year anniversary between me and my girlfriend Emma. We don't have a big need to mark the day in any way but we like to just go out and eat just the two of us.

For this date we chose Nama Japanese Fusion. As the name has already given away it's an asian restaurant. They have a great and delicious sushi menu as well as some noodle and meat dishes. The food here is of high quality and a little bit on the expensive side but they really make up for it in taste. The food here is delicious.

# 3 Years!

Three years together really is something. That's 72 months. 1095 days. 26,297 minutes. 1,577,846 minutes. It's a long time. And even though it's been three years it feels like we've been together for nothing but months at the most. All the time we've spent together feels like it was just yesterday.

I recently thought about our first summer together where we spent a week in Paris. It's almost three years past and still I remember it as vividly as if it was last week. I'm having troubles categorizing our time together into different years because it's all stowed away in my memory under the same category; a really good time.

When we got together I was still a student. Living in a collective alongside other students. We originally met at a party and didn't really do anything more than talk for a couple of minutes. A while later we matched on Tinder, something I myself had totally missed due to never having any notifications turned on on my phone. I was lucky enough to open the app and find both the match and a "Hello!" awaiting me in the inbox. 

It was no easy ride from there on out. I noticed a connection early on, even though I'm not so sure that she did, and I knew right away that I wanted to get to know her better. We talked on Snapchat for three months (three months!!!) before we actually met each other again. In that time I had asked her out on a date three times and been stood up thrice (thrice!!!). Still I persevered.

Quite randomly one evening I was drinking a couple of beers, alone, while watching a [Biffy Clyro consert](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bg8XyoO10v8) on YouTube. Coincidentally she was drinking wine alone at home to and she invited me over! From then on out it was a snowballing effect from getting together in February and moving in together in July. What a ride it's been.

She has a thing of privacy where she doesn't want her pictures on the internet so instead of a picture of us I'll show off the roses she bought for me. Yes, the roses SHE bought for ME. The roles have been reversed.

# Nama Japanese Fushion

This is a restaurant we've been meaning to visit for quite a while but we've delayed it due to Covid. I was here years ago for a work dinner for some sushi but that's it. We originally meant to get some sushi but after looking over the menu we decided differently. I immediately notived the Wagyu Steak (kobe beef) and had an internal discussion with myself if I was really interested in paying 675NOK (80$) for a steak. 

I was. I've heard so much about Wagyu steak that when I now had the chance to finally try it I just had to. What is the Wagyu steak or Kobe beef you might ask? It's meat from a special breed of cattle stemming from Japan. There's several different criterias that needs to be fulfilled for the producer to officially be allowed to call it Kobe Beef. Sadly, shortly after putting in the order the waiter returned to tell me they were fresh out of the Wagyu steaks. I was of course disappointed but what could I do? The head waiter personally apologized and explained they had a delivery issue from New Zealand. I was quite surprised to hear they ordered it from New Zealand but oh well.

I decided to go for the tenderloin instead. A downgrade to be sure but my god was it an amazing piece of meat. It was perfectly cooked and the sauce that came with it was fantastic. I had forgotten everything about the Wagyu steak as soon as I bit into the tenderloin. 

Emma got the order she wanted from the get go which was a side of lobster. She liked it but was a wee bit disappointed. She's eaten a lot of lobster before, coming from a small town where they fish a lot of lobster, so she was expecting a little more flavor. Still she was happy in the end. Both dishes were accompanied by a spinach salad and I ordered an extra side of sweet potatoes.

For dessert I went with a cheese cake while Emma went for a chocolate fondant.The dinner was accompanied by a Japanese beer called Asahi for me and wine for Emma.

# A chill night

We didn't stay out for long and we couldn't have even if we wanted to. There's some heavy restrictions going on in our town and restaurants are basically what's open. We ended the night out early and went home, but the night didn't end!

We poured and mixed ourselves a glass of gin & tonic before we expanded the couch (it's a sofa bed) and laid down in front of the TV to drink some gin and play video games. We played Super Mario 3D World for a couple of hours before calling it a night. All in all we had a lovely night and date. We're looking forward to spending the next three years and more together as well. Let's just hope we get to do so without Covid!
