Hello Teacher's Lounge! It's been a while since I've done anything with this community. The last couple of months have been kinda draining at work so when I've been coming home in the evenings I try to shut out what I can about work. That also means blogging about work. I've been checking in every single day to see if there's any new posts but sadly we've been on a draught lately. The fact that I don't post here myself doesn't help of course...

On the other hand there's been some community growth over the last few weeks! The community had around 30 subscribers just a couple of weeks ago and now we've passed 50. I'm guessing that's due to the influx of new members on Hive. Let's hope we get to see some posts from these new members soon.

# Christmas break!

As for me, I've been on Christmas break for about a week now and this was a much needed break. The weeks leading up to Christmas were rough with a lot of evaluations to get done while Covid has been breathing down our necks constantly. The school where I work had a lot of Covid infections during December and that adds a fair bit of stress to an already hectic day at work.

I got ill as well during the last week of work and had to stay at home for three days. Luckily it wasn't Covid but instead a good ol' flu. When I was ready to go back to work for the last two days of the term the city council decided that the junior high schools in town should be schooled from home those last two days. 

My school shortened down the day so that the students would be schooled on Google Meet from 11-13 those two days but since I didn't have any subjects in that time frame the school year was basically over for me. I spent my leftover time evaluating arts & crafts objects instead.

This time off has done me good. I've managed to get back into working out, at least a little bit, so now I need to keep that up. I've really deteriorated over the last six months so it's about time I do something to fix that. I just need to be strict with myself so that I can keep my motivation up.

I've also managed to get my content creation back on track. It was hard to keep up with time and with work stealing most of my energy my mind wasn't really in a place to do much more than chill and play video games in the evenings. That's why I've spent most of the last few months curating instead of creating. 

Going forward I'm gonna be planning much more ahead with my content that I've done before. I'm gonna be writing posts when I have the energy and time to do so then save them as drafts to post or schedule for a later time. Up until now I've mostly sat down to write a post just before publishing it and some days it's hard to find the energy to do that. 

I'm gonna test out this system for a while and see if it works out. There's always the chance that it might crumble once it's back to work.

Anyways. Just a little update as to how work has been treating me lately. I hope everyone, teacher or not, are having a wonderful Christmas!
