Welcome to week 3 of my game development blog! So, what have I accomplished this week? <center>http://i.imgur.com/mSFXORY.jpg</center> # Not a God Damned Thing Yup. I contemplated not even posting this blog, but that wouldn't be right. I need to hold myself accountable. I didn't do ANYTHING code related this week. I didn't open my game, I pulled up like one tutorial on something only marginally related to what I'm working on, and that only lasted about 48 seconds before I closed it. This is a real thing that happens though, so if all else I shall show my shame to the world by writing about it. I'll own it, because it's what really happened. If code or not, it's a weekly update and I'm sticking to it. # I Haven't Given Up! I've not reached a difficult point, I haven't gotten mad and thrown my hands in the air. I'm not disappointed in my progress in any way. I'm just... in a rough state lately. Everything's taken a back-seat to me being a complete bum. I've been begrudgingly playing diablo 3. I don't enjoy it, but it requires zero thought to click monsters and watch loot explode on screen. It's an over-glorified flashy version of cookie clicker with just slightly more user input required. But, in the same sense, it's a good way to pass a few dozen hours over a week so I don't have to think about much of anything else. It's also a pretty good motivation to make something better. Not saying I'm going to complete something with more addictive gameplay than millions of dollars from the company that puts more polish on their games than an obsessive classic car owner, but I'm going to try for something just a little more...engaging. # So What's Next? Well, hopefully I attempt to open up my game once this week and put in a few minutes and a couple lines of code. Hopefully I can get over a few grumbly inner dark and twisties and get myself in a brighter place. I'm really picky when it comes to when I do artsy stuff. Reading, writing, code, art, whatever, I have to be in a mostly positive place. Writing is about the only thing I can do when I'm not completely "with it", so hopefully I can get to that place soon. Anyway, enough rambling about not doing any code in a code-based blog. If you stuck it out this far, thanks for taking an interest. I'll try to have something more substantial up next week. Right now I have some rifts to begrudgingly run. http://i.imgur.com/ff3g0bX.png *Image Sources* [[1]](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:GameMaker-Studio-Logo1.jpg)

Yeah, I've played quite a bit of PoE, and was mad when Diablo stole seasons from them. But PoE suffers so many of the drawbacks that D2 had. It was fun for a grip, and I love the skill web instead of a skill tree. Maybe I'm just slowly getting over dungeon crawlers in favor of sandboxes. I'm trying to wait out the kerbal 1.2 patch instead of having everything change once I'm sucked in again lol.
