[QAs Game Dev Blog] Week 5 - Heroes are Born
Welcome to week 5 of my game development blog! So, what have I accomplished this week?

# The Birth of Two Heroes!

So, a fair bit of work this week. First of all, we have two heroes! Sandy and Danny. They're two wonderful blue circles that will defend the land against....well, probably red squares or something, who knows. We also have a world for them to defend! Well, again, more of a room, with some collapsed ceilings or something. What matters is we're getting more foundation built, and while we're at it a few game elements are getting thrown in. There is also some more debug info printed on screen, to ensure that the right things are selected. The heroes can move around via left and right clicks, and it's getting exciting to work on this project. Every time I feel grumpy about doing it, but when I get in and work on it I feel so rewarded. It's becoming less "forcing" myself to work on it and more just "pushing" myself to get an hour of code in or so.

# Learning Steps to Apply to MY Game

Again, a huge thanks to [sergeant indie's excellent turn based strategy tutorial on YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lVxoEjQ8-s) for the wonderful tutorial. Because of it, I'm already learning things from following along with him that to eliminate extra steps in my main game. I'll definitely look into using switch cases instead of nested if statements to fire off my various scripts. This looks like a way more effective way of handling it. I'm also learning about having the graph "steal" the properties of objects put on top of it, so that memory isn't wasted by having layered objects. That'll come in rather handy later.

That's it for now! Next up, more refined character movement!
