<p>Das beliebte Stangengemüse ist nicht nur schmackhaft, sondern enthält auch wichtige Vitamine,  Mineralstoffe und Folsäure und gilt als sehr kalorienarm.<br/>Doch nicht alles ist für Hunde geeignet, was für uns Menschen gesund ist. Und weil das weithin bekannt ist, fragen sich natürlich speziell in der Spargelzeit viele Hundehalter, ob Hunde Spargeln essen dürfen.</p>
<p>Zunächst einmal, ja... Spargel ist sehr gesund, auch für Hunde. Mein Hund Frieda hat immer welchen zu essen bekommen und hat es bisher problemlos überlebt. Auch meine vorherigen Hunde aßen und vertrugen den Spargel immer ohne Nebenwirkungen.<br />Nagut, nicht ganz... Es hatte wirklich übelste Auswirkungen auf den Geruch ihres Urins. xD</p>

<p>This popular stick shaped vegetable is not only tasty, but also contains important vitamins, minerals and folic acid and is considered very low in calories.<br/>But not everything is good for dogs, which is healthy for us humans. And because this is widely known, especially in the asparagus season, many dog owners of course wonder whether dogs should eat asparagus.</p>
<p>First of all, yes.... Asparagus is very healthy, even for dogs. I have always given my dog Frieda to eat from it and she has survived it so far without any problems. Also all of my previous dogs ate and tolerated the asparagus always without any side effects.<br />Well, not entirely without.... It had really nasty effects on the smell of their urine. xD</p>

## Grüner und weißer Spargel

<p>
Es ist mir nicht bekannt, ob es noch weitere Spargelarten gibt. Aber zumindest von grünem und weißem Spargel weiß ich aus persönlicher Erfahrung, dass beide für Hunde bekömmlich sind.<br/>
Grüner Spargel kann Hunden roh und gekocht verabreicht werden. Man muss ihn vorher noch nicht einmal schälen. <br/>
Bei weißem Spargel sieht es anders aus. Er sollte gekocht werden bevor ihr der Hund zu essen bekommt, da er dann verdaulich ist. Zudem muss weißer Spargel vor der Verarbeitung immer geschält werden. Die harten Fasern der Spargelschale sind für den Hund nicht einfach verdaubar. <br/>
Sollte bei der Zubereitung mal eine Schale vom Tisch fallen und vom Hund gefressen werden, ist es aber nicht weiter schlimm. Nur in großen Mengen, sollten Hunde keine Spargelschalen verzehren.

Es ist auch besser, den Spargel in kleine Stücke zu schneiden, weil er sehr faserig ist und Probleme machen kann, wenn er herunter geschlungen werden sollte.

## Green and white asparagus

<p>
I'm not aware whether there would be other types of asparagus. But at least about green and white asparagus I know from personal experience that both are well digestible for dogs.<br/>
Green asparagus can be given to dogs raw and also cooked. You don't even have to peel it.<br/>
White asparagus is a different story. It should be cooked before you give it to the dogs, because then it is much easier to digest. In addition, white asparagus must always be peeled before cooking. Dogs can't digest the hard fibers of the asparagus peel very well. 
<br/>
Should a peel fall off the table during preparation and be eaten by the dog, it is not a big deal. Only in large portions, asparagus peels shouldn't consumed by your dog.

It's also better to cut the asparagus into small pieces because it is very fibrous and can cause problems when it should be gobbled down.

## Inhaltsstoffe

<p>Gerade für die gefräßigeren Zeitgenossen unter den Hunden ist Spargel eine perfekte Mahlzeit für zwischendurch. Denn er enthält recht viele Ballaststoffe und hat daher einen hohen Sättigungswert.<br/>
Hundert Gramm Spargel enthalten nur etwa 16 kcal Energie. Kein Wunder! Denn bis zu 95 Prozent des Gemüses bestehen aus Wasser und nur aus 2 Prozent Kohlenhydraten. Er enthält außerdem weniger als ein Prozent Fett und 2 Prozent Proteine.</p>
<p>Mit Recht kann man vom Spargel also als Low-Carb Nahrungsmittel sprechen.</p>
<p>Gerade roher Spargel enthält eine große Menge an Folsäuren. Genauer gesagt sind es zwischen 105 und 110 µg pro 100 Gramm. Ideal also für trächtige Hundedamen. Folsäure ist ja bekannt dafür, das Risiko von Missbildungen bei Föten zu verringern.</p>
<p>Dass er auch ansonsten sehr gesund ist, beweisen die Nährwert-Angaben aus folgender Tabelle.</p>

## Ingredients

<p>Specially for the more greedy contemporaries among the dogs, asparagus is a perfect snack. Because it contains quite a lot of fiber and therefore has a high satiety value.<br/>
One hundred grams of asparagus has only about 16 kcal of energy. No wonder! Because up to 95 percent of this vegetable consists of water and only 2 percent carbohydrates. It also contains less than one percent fat and 2 percent proteins.</p>
<p>Regarding that, we can rightly speak of asparagus as a low-carb food.</p>
<p>Raw asparagus contains even a large amount of folic acids. More precisely, it is between 105 and 110 µg per 100 grams. So it is also perfectly for pregnant dog ladies. Folic acid is known to reduce the risk of malformations in fetuses.</p>
