The old wizard in the galleries - #SupportLMAC Challenge

Hello Hivians,

The [#SupportLMAC Community Challenge](https://peakd.com/hive-174695/@quantumg/supportlmac-community-challenge-1) is still running. So I was forced to contribute, because I really love creating collages.
However, since I was the initiator of this round, I will not take part in the challenge to register a collage for the final poll. I just join in for fun and to support LMAC.

Do you remember the [old wizzard](https://peakd.com/hive-174695/@quantumg/a-storm-is-comming-frieda-and-the-old-wizard-in-lmac-47) with whom [Frieda(zilla)](https://peakd.com/hive-174695/@quantumg/friedazilla-savior-of-the-puppies-lmac-42) lives in the [tower](https://peakd.com/hive-174695/@quantumg/friedazilla-visits-her-friend-linus-lmac46)?
He owed me a little favor. And I wanted do one of LMACs great artists a favor.
So I asked him to put @rachelcreative's [collage of LMAC round 40](https://peakd.com/hive-174695/@rachelcreative/let-s-make-a-collage-round-40-my-collage-with-a-little-mermaid) into a nice and antique frame.
He agreed, but he obviously took the task a little too seriously. I should have defined my wish more precisely.
The wizard raised his wand... "Abracadabra...!!!" \*flash\* and then @rachelcreative's collage suddenly hung in the frame.
When the museum guards discovered what the wizard was doing, it was already too late. 
They tried to catch the old wizard, of course. But when they got closer, he snapped his fingers and disappeared in a cloud of white smoke. \*puff\*

Dozens of workers have already tried to remove the picture from the frame. But in vain. Because it was enchanted and withstood all attempts. It now hangs there forever, it seems.

Actually, I just know a few tricks that everyone can learn, too. The more tricks you know, the easier it is to bring your imagination to the canvas. 
And the most tricks are accidents or intentional accidents, freely based on what Bob Ross loved to say. ^^

I will tell you this little trick with the light beam from the magic wand (works with GIMP)...

- a) Make a free selection or a vector selection in a shape you need for the beam.
- b) Create a new layer on top of the other layers. Set the blending mode of this layer to "Screen". 
- c) Place a supernova (Menu: Filters/Light and shadows) to the point where the light should come from. But place it a bit outside of your selection.
Just play around with the "Rays" value and the range.
- d) Press shift+ctrl+A to remove the selection.
- e) Use "Gaussian blur" on this layer (Menu: Filters/Blur).
- f) Create another layer on top of the previous. Set the layer mode to "Lighten only".
- g) Create a "Gradient flare" (Menu: Filters/Light and shadows) on the exact location of the light source (tip of a magic wand?).
