### Replacing Your Tracked / Censored Habits. Last week, we talked about a great way to put your emails on the blockchain. You do realize that there is no "The Blockchain", right? Each crypto currency has its own blockchain, some are decentralized and some are **not**. Whenever you see **the blockchain** written, it is missing something! Is itt *the **Bitcoin** blockchain* or *the **Ripple** blockchain*? They are using the B word to give all digital assets credibility. Check each blockchain by its white paper. Some are not open source and **others cannot be reviewed to find out what is under the hood**. All of that was just a side note. Let's talk about getting rid of another control/data collection pitfall. **YouTube**. ### New Pipe **What is it?** This is a very good way to continue watching things on YouTube, plus other features that make watching even better, like one click downloading, viewing without advertising, no account necessary and more. It works by piping into the YouTube API - in through the back door so to speak - Notice the download button. <center>  </center> I do not use any sort of account for NewPipe, so I do not make comments or follow people on the platform. I am told that some features (the ones that they like you to use in order to collect your opinions for ad revenue) do not work well. Those kinds of things should be avoided anyway. I am just trying to let you know what is out there so *you* can get out of the Matrix as I have done. I have used this app for many years, but only recently I found out how to avoid a huge problem with this particular life choice related to NewPipe. The app, **if you get it from the Goofle app store**, will throw errors within a week or two of getting it. I loved it from the moment I saw it but the errors make it unusable. How to avoid that, below. The problem is that Goofle knows this app will help you sidestep advertising, ***so they corrupt the code*** within weeks of NewPipe update releases. I know that because I went to another "open source" app store and got the app there. I have no errors with the app since doing that. The app store is called **FDroid** (for Android users) and the company requires all app companies to provide their raw source code in order to host their apps. **FDroid settings page** <center> </center> **Basic App Info** This will say "Install" if the app you have searched is not installed, It will say "Update" if the app needs an update. <center>  </center> FDroid has an "Updates" list in order to do your updates, either "all" or selectively - one by one. I will cover other ways to get apps NOT using Goofle on another post... --- This is what NewPipe looks like when watching something. I am watching a Piper Cub land on the helipad in Dubai. <center></center> Since I am writing a post, I hit the power button on my tablet, and the audio continued. I could download this video if I wanted to. It has much better controls for full screen, popped out, finding things in a video is swipe left and right anywhere, volume is swipe anywhere up and down. You can get FDroid from their site and NewPipe on FDroid - that is the only version of NewPipe that I have found which is not corrupted by the ones that do not want your freedom to ring. I am pushing freedom and anonymity. Helping people avoid the tracking that they have been submitting to. I am not pushing this or any other app. There is no referral link that I am aware of. I would never post one due to the garbage people have done for referral rewards. My reward is helping people secure their systems and phones.
