***😊Hey Battle Mages!***
I'd like to welcome you to this week's Splinterlands Social Media Challenge. I truly hope you are all having fun and progressing through the leagues. How fast the days fly by and we have successfully seen the End of Season [EOS].

This post is my continuous attempt to explain the various rulesets I find interesting and managed to make good use of in battle. Splinterlands strongly encourages players to try out various strategies, and before the start of battle, each player is shown what Ruleset is allowed in combat and it is extremely beneficial to read and strategize accordingly. This week I will be introducing you to the ***`FOG OF WAR`***. Also, down this post I have shared what I pulled in my End of Season [EOS] reward chest and staked SPS challenge.

Hence,

**<pre>A good tank and a balanced line up of Magic and Ranged monsters is the trick to win in this ruleset ^(a). Use monsters with Opportunity ^(b). Keep your monsters in an ascending order of their HP. ^(c)</pre>**

I have a battle to demonstrate this ruleset and a possible lineup that works for low mana battle. Before I show you the battle, I'll introduce you to the monsters and why I picked them.

The great ***MYLOR CROWLING***, a summoner with the supernatural ability to grant the ***Thorns***<img src="https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/queenstarr/23wWnsk6bhpUzWYEzab9HfJ44z1y38Ydyf1mJCZam5rWC5xej83cNE1Frwe69tnKYfbfW.png"> ability. This ability is so deadly that when monsters with it are attacked by melee attackers, it does damage back to the attacker. The awesome fact about this summoner is that, he gives the thorns ability to all monsters on his team, making them even more fierce.

##### ✅**`WHY I PICKED MYLOR CROWLING`**

Summoner Mylor Crowling is an Anti-Melee, hence, he is particularly effective when you envisage your enemy to come at you with Melee Attack. This battle ruleset will surely cause my opponent to want to use melee against me.

The **FURIOUS CHICKEN** has the **`Enraged ability`** at higher levels, but I currently only have level 4 to battle with. **FURIOUS CHICKE**N might look little, but it's attack is lethal and can serve well as a distraction by taking the front line or backline enemy hit for it's team members, giving room for the next monster to gain some attack advantage.

This cards attack type is <u>Melee</u>, a Rare card and it is part of the <u>Neutral unit</u>.

##### ✅**`WHY I PICKED FURIOUS CHICKEN`**

I picked **FURIOUS CHICKEN** because being a Melee attacker, it can cause great damage, best when paired with Mylor Crowling to make it an Anti-Melee. This card can also be placed in front position.

This formidable ***FLESH GOLEM*** can heal himself and regenerate his powers. Magical attackers have no chance against him because of his Void ability.

This cards attack type is <u>Melee</u>, and it is part of the <u>Earth unit</u>. It costs 6-mana to use in battle , as a result, it will be an excellent card for both mid & high mana ruleset battles.

##### ✅**`WHY I PICKED FLESH GOLEM`**

I picked **FLESH GOLEM** because of it's good tank and it's self Healing ability. This Monster will help me outlast the enemies monsters in battle.

The ***FUNGUS FIEND*** is a legendary warrior card and master of the underworlds that thrives within caverns, deep inside swamps, or even within the hollowed-out trunks of great trees. It is able to burrow underground and bursts forth to attack it's unsuspecting enemy.

This cards attack type is <u>Melee</u>, a Rare card and it is part of the <u>Neutral unit</u>. It also cost absolutely 0-mana to use in battle , as a result, it will be an excellent card for all, especially low mana battles.

I picked **FUNGUS FIEND** because of it's zero mana, and as a Melee attack card, it pairs well with Mylor Crowling, making it an Anti-melee.

The ***SCREECHING VULTURE*** is fantastic beast that feast on rotten flesh of enemies. This creature fly's over and knows exactly what enemy to attack then scavenges over it's health.

This cards attack type is <u>Melee</u>, and it is part of the <u>Earth unit</u>. It costs 3-mana to use in battle , as a result, it will be an excellent card for both mid & high mana ruleset battles.

I picked **SCREECHING VULTURE** because of it's opportunity ability and also it's a Stealth monster. Hence, this card will give my enemy the surprise attack.

Without Further ado and having information, let's look at the positioning of these cards in a battle.

My Team Line up was pretty decent and as per suggested for a win. Contrary to the norm of having the frontline monsters with heavy tanks, Implying that I should've first placed ***FLESH GOLEM***, I instead went for ***FURIOUS CHICKEN*** in Front position to serve a reinforcement for the first or half round of battle, leaving ***FLESH GOLEM*** in Second position recharges each round.

My opponent also thought like me and came at with a similar lineup and his Main heavy tank as *ENEMY-XENITH MONTH* along with Summoner *SCARED LLAMA*, giving all monsters +2 health, cleanse and Last stand ability.

I then placed ***SCREECHING VULTURE*** in fourth position seeing he has the **`Opportunity ability`**, ***FUNGUS FIEND*** in Third position served well as the sacrifice at worst case scenario. It was a fierce first round in which ***FURIOUS CHICKEN*** and ***SCREECHING VULTURE*** played their role well, leaving ***FLESH GOLEM*** with shorter round to Heal and Slam!!! 

*ENEMY-XENITH MONK* was hard to eliminate because he too healed every round, and with the last stand which made him more difficult to kill, but **FLESH GOLEM** had a better advantage, the **`Thorn ability`** which did damage back as done him.

# <center>⚔️**MY THOUGHTS ON THE BATTLE**⚔️</center>

In battles that use the **`Fog of War`** ruleset, monsters lose their Sneak and Snipe abilities. This can make battles more challenging, hence, to succeed in the Fog of War ruleset, players should choose monsters with good tanking abilities, Additionally, using monsters with the Opportunity ability can help players take advantage of their opponents' possible strategy.

Another important strategy in **`Fog of War`** is to keep your monsters in an ascending order of their Health Points, with the strongest and most durable monsters at the front of the lineup. This can help to protect weaker monsters and ensure that they have a chance to use their abilities before being defeated.

Overall, the Fog of War ruleset can be a challenging and engaging, but it requires careful strategizing to succeed. By choosing the right monsters and using strategic positioning and abilities such as in the case of this battle, players can gain an advantage and emerge victorious.

Again this isn't huge news for high tier/whale players, but I challenged myself to grow on Splinterlands and last few weeks, I started with achieving a ~~1,391.20~~  staked SPS mile🎉. *I told myself that I could do better in subsequent seasons and would be comparing each season's growth.*

**Yass Finally hit the 7,000+ staked SPS, also earned pretty good from Ranked, Brawl, DQ & EOS Chest, which brings me to an exact sum of `7463.613 Staked SPS`🎉. I believe I've achieved an amazing milestone and performed way better than previous seasons.**

The plan is simple, aside from the SPS I earn via Ranked battles, Brawls, the Daily chest, and the Season chest, I had adopted **Mr. Alok Kumar's** advice to purchase and stake atleast 100 SPS every week.

I also get to earn awesome tokens like #SPT on post which I can trade for SPS and immediately stake. I am super comfortable doing this every week, hopefully I am making the right decisions here.

Splinterlands is such a rewarding game, and, for every battle won you earn chest which could contain random rewards like Cards, Splintershards, Potions and Merits. I was able to grind 88 Gold chest last season. I got to Pull a Chaos legion pack, adding to the numbers, that's nice. 2 copies Legendary regular-foil ***Aves Sturgis***, a Level 3 gold-foil ***Gobson bomber***, 15.51 more SPS, 2810 merits and other regular cards in multiple copies for leveling up.

To be honest I wasn't so pleased with this pull, but oh well🙂. I also tried all i could to finish in the top 15 on the leaderboard but didn't make it. Well, I Learnt in the process, especially from top players, this new season I'll do better.
