This senryu was inspired by the [Mizu No Oto - Haiku Contest](https://steemit.com/haikucontest/@bananafish/mizu-no-oto-every-image-has-its-haiku-edition-43-english), where a picture is used to prompt a haiku. In this case I have taken my prompt from the image used as a thumbnail in this post to create a senryu, which is Japanese form of poetry similar to haiku.<br> 
The Mizu No Oto - Haiku Contest (linked above) contains a fantastic tutorial on the traditional aesthetics and technique of Haiku, I recommend checking it out for a master class in that form of poetry.<br>

Although similar to haiku, senryu is more open in subject matter - including the human side of existence - and subjective viewpoint, often incorporating humor and political views.
