Saludos, amigos. Hoy les traigo mis impresiones sobre la película “El mensajero”, fue estrenada en el año 2013. Aquí vamos a encontrar a Dwayne Johnson con una interpretación bastante alejada de "La Roca", el típico héroe que cobra justicia a través de golpes y grandes hazañas. Si esperas momentos cargados de intensidad propiciados por este actor, déjame desilusionarte, te encuentres en el film equivocado, tendremos una actuación más humana, un hombre decidido y serio que es capaz de arriesgarse por su hijo. A pesar de ello, podemos decir que se trata de un híbrido drama-acción.

Al inicio existe una declaración que esta cinta está basada en hechos reales, lo cual estimuló mi curiosidad para quedarme durante casi dos horas, tuve la intención de abandonar porque me pareció densa y lenta en muchas escenas. # Actores principales

Dwayne Johnson es el protagonista de la historia, las acciones giran a partir de su acto de valentía, el cual también es de amor, vemos a un padre que expone su vida por amparar a su hijo de la desdicha y la miseria. Sarandon realiza un buen trabajo, confieso que resulta una persona intransigente e, incluso, detestable en algunos momentos.

Barry Pepper interpreta al agente Billy Cooper, un elemento importante para el desarrollo de esta historia. Se caracteriza por ser obstinado y lograr sus objetivos a cualquier costo.
 
# Aspectos técnicos

Detrás de un producto cinematográfico hay un gran esfuerzo humano. El director y guionista Ric Roman Waugh imprime su sello a este film, pero no logra plasmar la verosimilitud, al menos a mí no me convence este planteamiento porque hay fallas en el hilo argumental. Aunque también puedo reconocer que la realidad, algunas veces, supera a la ficción y es allí donde caben las situaciones extrañas, fantásticas, confusas o sin sentido. 
 
La banda sonora estuvo en las manos de Antonio Pinto, creo que tampoco funcionó para mí, pues no me mantuvo en tensión o suspenso. La música debe estar en armonía con las acciones que suceden en el film, dando intensidad a las escenas y acoplándose armoniosamente con los otros elementos de la composición.  Por otro lado, la fotografía de Dana Gonzales es impecable, este aspecto sí me gustó. 

# ¿Qué serías capaz de hacer por un hijo?

Esta parece una pregunta que se puede responder con suma facilidad, pero la verdad es que su respuesta es más complicada de lo que supone su planteamiento emotivo y ético. ¿Somos capaces de aplicar justicia a nuestra propia sangre? El análisis nos lleva a una delgada línea. El lado emocional nos puede golpear fuertemente y hundir todo rastro de objetividad, entonces la moral se mueve con un acentuado matiz de conveniencia. ¿Culpable o inocente?, serán dos palabras que nos mantienen en estado de cavilación cuando un familiar o conocido se encuentra en una situación legal o sometido al escándalo público.   

Seguramente, habrá muchos padres que sin analizarlo demasiado dirían que cualquier cosa, pero esta es una contestación más orgánica que racional, motivado por las conexiones afectivas que tenemos. La verdad es que cuando estamos en un escenario de este tipo, sometidos a un estrés que se muestra insostenible, el raciocinio huye velozmente. Actuamos de forma visceral, incluso, defendiendo lo indefendible. Estoy consciente y completamente de acuerdo que la familia duele, sin embargo, no podemos caer en una ceguera absoluta.

On the other hand, Dana Gonzales' photography is impeccable, this aspect I really liked.

This seems like a question that can be answered very easily, but the truth is that its answer is more complicated than its emotional and ethical approach implies. Are we capable of applying justice to our own blood? The analysis brings us to a fine line. The emotional side can hit us hard and sink all traces of objectivity, then morality moves with an accentuated tinge of convenience. Guilty or innocent, will be two words that keep us in a state of pondering when a family member or acquaintance is in a legal situation or subjected to public scandal.   

Surely, there will be many parents who without analyzing it too much would say anything, but this is a more organic than rational answer, motivated by the affective connections we have. The truth is that when we are in a scenario of this type, subjected to stress that proves to be unsustainable, reason flees quickly. We act viscerally, even defending the indefensible. I am aware and completely agree that the family hurts, however, we cannot fall into absolute blindness.

Se puede observar a través de esta película que hay una clara crítica al sistema judicial. Esta película no me gustó, la trama resulta inverosímil. Bastaría pensar hasta qué punto calca la realidad y hasta dónde es arropada por la ficción. Sin embargo, no puedo negar que tiene cierta sensibilidad por el tema abordado, un argumento que está trillado en la industria del cine y que no deja de ser actual, pues la distribución de drogas no ha podido ser eliminada en el mundo, pese a algunos esfuerzos individuales y conjuntos de algunos países.

El protagonista encarna a un hombre de familia sometido a una situación extrema, debe ayudar a su hijo y para ello pondrá en riesgo su vida y la de su familia. ¿Esto sería viable?, ¿Por salvar a alguien pongo en riesgo a más personas?, ¿Mi vida tiene valor? El mensaje de la injusticia está muy claro, pero ¿Cuál es el precio de la justicia? Me temo que puede ser mucho más alto de lo que estemos dispuesto a pagar o de lo que tengamos. ¿Cuál sería la respuesta ante un escenario de esta naturaleza?, ¿Silenciar nuestra voz y atarnos de manos?
