Legend has it that in the early twentieth century in a country where the climate is warm.  By the erosion of limestone, water and several telluric movements a cave was formed, around it settled several indigenous families forming a tribe whose chief or cacique called Inananú, was responsible for the other members of the clan to protect the cave and all the elements such as the river, plants, birds and other components of the ecosystem. This Cacique had a vision " if everyone preserved the environment, all future generations would have land to grow their food, water and other elements that would allow them to preserve life. "

That cave emerged subway, with a very small entrance, the Indians settled around it, with their hands they worked as a team to enlarge it and to be able to perform their rituals. Cacique Inananú performed rituals every year, when the corn harvest took place, to give thanks to the spirits of the Cave. While performing the ritual he said to all those present:

"We have to give thanks to the God who is in the river , the tree and all the spirits present in this cave, who protect us, because thanks to them I see that through their birds they have contributed to preserve the ecosystem and the natural resources of the place."
Then his son Garuo stood up and said:
 
"For that reason we have to follow the example of those birds. If we don't, future generations will not see or enjoy this cave and its surrounding environment. 

Before any illness that attacked them, they gathered in the cave to ask all the spirits of the cave to deliver them from all evil.
 
With the passage of time, the chief of that tribe grew old, losing his mental faculties.  His son Garuo, who had the same vision as his father, ascended to the hierarchy of chief, along with the rest of the indigenous people of his tribe.
  
This cave is still cared for and preserved by its chief and indigenous people.  Ten years ago, the National Government of this country decreed it a Natural Heritage Site, for being a determining element of the ecosystem.  Today it is a center of attraction for many tourists who visit it.
