There are lots of people around the world who want to purchase material things, experiences, adventures. Or just basic necessities. And for that they need to spend money. But not everyone is fortunate enough to have the amounts required to meet their spending habits. Such has been the normal financial routine of the average citizen. And then the pandemic hit, placing some of us in quite a peculiar situation. Well, myself at least. I find myself in the opposite situation now. Having the money, but not being able to spend it. Funny enough this means I'm confronted with "first world problems" while living in a "third world country". Doing a job that is unaffected by the situation has a lot to with it and I consider myself very fortunate.

My main goal was always to travel and see the world. And just as this plan was about to take of, Rona decided to put a full stop to all of that and more. This doesn't just apply to travel, as other "fun stuff" also got halted, like going outdoors with friends and enjoying nature, something we did quite often. Improvements to our home which is still in progress are also going a bit more slowly, because of all the restrictions applied to stores, etc. Quite a frustrating situation, but I'm making the best of it. As my mom said when I consulted her on this over the phone, brighter days are bound to be ahead, and it's better to keep on working now to be overly prepared when push comes to shove, then sulking and missing on opportunities now.
