🦉 <b>The fieldfare (Turdus pilaris)</b>

📚 <b> Turdus</b> (lat) - Thrush
<b>pilaris </b> - the etymology is mysterious, although it is now believed that pilaris in later Latin means simply thrush (Jobling, 2017). However, since lat. "pilus" hair, pilare to remove hair, but pila ball, pilaris anything related to ball, and pilarius is a juggler (and at the same time, the Greek "trikhos" is hair, and "trikhas" is a thrush!), all this puzzling. Siberian winters are so severe that even wintering birds fly away further away from here, to regions where it is warmer. Large flocks of these birds can be found in the middle of autumn, they mow through forests, sometimes their flight lies through city parks and gardens. There they are looking for their favorite food - rowan berries.
And in the spring they appear with us again. I noticed that at this time they are the most courageous and you can approach them closer, during the rest of the year they will not allow you to do this.
