Another boring how to kick it at Steemit post with my own twist

<p>Okay, I'm going to be a little different. I've been seeing the 'how to kill it at Steemit' posts doing the rounds again, and don't get me wrong, every one of them is right. You should definitely do what they say because most follow a good standard of etiquette that has you gaining a nice number of followers and a gradual upscale in monetary rewards. I warn you though, there will come a time in the future when everyone and their dog wants a go at Steemit. This is the way it is. It happens with every good platform that rewards you for your time. YouTube, a prime example. Quite easy to get noticed in 2008. Now? We are awash with a torrent of everyone's bullshit, and it's a bum fight to the top. We're sort of lucky here. We are early adopters. I can imagine most of us will be near whales when mass adoption starts, but already it's becoming harder to get noticed. I remember a time here when you'd wait sometimes 15 minutes for someone to make a new post. Now? There's at least one every minute and that will only grow exponentially. So, what do you do when everyone on the planet wants to do the same thing?</p>
<h1>Stand out, don't be one of the crowd</h1>
<p>You become different. You add your own twist to posts that have been done a million times before. I bet there are at least several that already cover the same content as me, but hopefully I bring my own style and twist to it. Being a man helps, in my line of work men writers are almost non-existent. Think of that for a moment. I found an almost barren niche. What can you do? I rehashed a beautifully done post by @soldier into my own style. I think it was about confidence and the result was entirely different. She has her own unique, but totally awesome twist. I promise you there isn't any rewards in doing the same tired hat no-effort ideas all the time.</p>
<h1>Think of your work from a readers perspective</h1>
<p>As a content creator, you need to take yourself and jump into your viewers shoes. Are they going to read another post about confidence that covers the same topics if they've already read two? Would you? Really? I wouldn't. I'd rather gouge my own eyes out with a spoon than read the same type of content that highlights the same points over and over again. Difference is good, having your own twist is even better. If you've ever walked the journey of starting your own blog from scratch with no readers then you'll understand the trauma of finding your own style and something that people like to read. It's not an easy journey I promise, but once you find that style and niche people will digest you and fucking love you for it. So far, I've found @cali-girl @thepinkbyhamann @markmorrisjr @arbitrarykitten @amarie and @carry0n that have their own unique, but really enjoyable style. I'm sure there are many more!</p>
<p>You hear people say, 'be original' all the time, and for a long time I had no clue what the hell that even meant, but I do now. It just means be yourself. If you love football then let that love for the sport shine through. You honestly can't write about a topic if there's no real passion in it. I hate Formula One. I spent a lot of my early twenties listening to my friends shut me out of conversations over some bullshit that was going on with Schumacher. I could write about F1, but it'd be the shittest article you've ever read, because there's no passion in it and I have no love for the sport. It'd be factual and boring. Don't ask me for sports articles. I'm honestly rubbish at them!</p>
<h1>You are a star! Act like one</h1>
<p>Think of Steemit as a way to create interest, gather an audience and pander to them. Check out all the famous vloggers on YouTube and how they do it, they have something their audience wants to hear, so it should be time you're giving yours more of what they want! If you want to pander to me, for example (because I'm also audience), write interesting life stories, parts about yourself that no-one knows, give me snippets of the hidden depths that you haven't shared with anyone yet. Write psychological concepts, go on tangents, think outside the box, do what no-one else is doing. I'm searching constantly by the way! But those are only my interests, Steemit as far as I know it is a big place!</p>
<h1>Don't be a dick</h1>
<p>Be accommodating in your comments! I swear no-one likes an absolutist. If someone takes the time and effort to write a few paragraphs on how religion is dead, then it's a good idea to be pleasant to them when you don't agree. I know this can be hard for some of you, but it's just not good social etiquette to be an obnoxious wanker. You are not people pleasing when you are being nice, you are being 'accommodating,' which by definition you are maintaining pleasantries whilst engaging in discussion. People will talk with you more, I promise! Respect is not earned until it is given! No-one wants to make nice with a cocksucker. I promise!</p>
<h1>And don't worry. Success is always a dish served cold</h1>
<p>Finally, don't worry! If you don't write well, it will come. If you're shit on camera, you'll get much better with practise, and if you hate videoing yourself I promise it will get easier. The more you practise something the better you get at it. Rome wasn't built in a day. All the people are at the top of their game in the world right now didn't just suddenly wake up one day and decide to be the best at x, y and z. It took a lot of hard work and dedication! Don't just be mediocre, be the best that you can be!</p>

I am not sure who originally said it, but the old adage "you can't write what you don't know" is true.  You can sit there and spin someones stuff until it looks like it's part of your crew, but if you have never experienced is yourself, your fans will be able to tell.

Agreed but the main issue is forming a fan base. For example I believe I have very good content and when I develop a better fan base I will have to re post posts that I have made just so that most people see them.

The trick is to make people 'feel' if you don't make people 'feel' then you lose out. Read any newspaper, that should show you that emotions hold the show.

Your last post for example, try adding emotion to it. "How to speed up your piece of shit computer that never seems to work?" You want to appeal to everyone! You'll notice that the harcore computer guys are becoming a minority now :)
