"Us" and "Them"

A set of the terms that has regularly erked me on this platform is "minnows" and "whales". This is a terming that has the potential to result in adversarial ideas and feelings. Don't get me wrong I recognise the human need to qualify and classify all the things, but in this sense I think it also has the chance of dehumanising us and also results in us painting each other into places where we don't want to be.

Personally I do my best on this platform to see every individual as just that, another person here on this planet in this platform trying to do what they know how to do.

The names are not important, what matters is the even distribution of steem and steem power. The data tells the tale of uneven distribution

Actually the names are very important, how a community qualifies terminology determines it's consensual definition. IE if the community agrees that "whales" are not human beings or vice versa, then as far as the community and platform are concerned  that statement becomes true. How you think about things determines how you treat them.

I guess because I have interacted with a couple of the whales(different crypto projects on bitcointalk) long before steemit was around, I see things a little different. Data often prevails over the psychological or human element even though it may be detrimental.  I understand where you are coming from though
