In instances like this it can be a good thing. It happened in a place where no people were hurt but where people can look at it to see what happened and what can be done to prevent it from happening again. If something similar happens then the scientists will have 2 sites to compare to make more accurate assessments so that they can make wiser decisions in the future instead of just 1 which might no give all the information that is needed.
