<i>Black Widow</i> is a long way off in November, but the movie was supposed to come out on May. It is done and ready. Which means the actors and the director are trying to lock down spoilers, but this was just too obvious. It was leaked by the director itself, but come on, we knew this was coming. It is not a real spoiler.
Scarlett Johansson will return to play Black Widow, presumably for the last time. A solo movie that fans have been waiting for a decade. We already know that she came from the Black Widow program and it looks like from the trailer that we will meet others who have as well. Including Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova. In the comics Yelena Belova was a Black Widow, and looks like she will be taking on the mantle in the <i>MCU</i> as well.
That can mean many different things though. Will she join the Avengers after learning of Natasha's death or will she join Thunderbolt Ross? I really wish it is the first option, but I have a feeling that it is the second one.
What I really hope for is that somehow Natasha will back in the future. I don't think Scarlett Johansson's version has done everything it can. Although she certainly doesn't have red on her ledger now, but she is too cool to die.
Most importantly, I hope that the movie will come out in November. As things are not looking so great due to coronavirus, it may be pushed back even further.
