've noticed this seems to be an extremely common problem among college students and graduates so I've decided to answer any questions you have about how to craft your resume or contact an employer to get interviews and more importantly, how to do well in those interviews and get the desired job.

Here are my tips for resumes:

1. Do NOT overload or cluster it. Unless you have extensive experience in your field already, your resume should be very easy to get information from. Make it key points, organized, and easy to spot things
2. Craft a resume for EACH place you apply to. If a company is looking for a certain skillset or experience and you have it, put it near the middle of the page, just underneath what skills you have. Make sure they can easily see you have the exact skills or experience they are looking for.
3. Put your address in your resume along with phone number and a GMAIL (not Yahoo or Outlook).
4. Make sure your Facebook account is legit and you are not tagged in ridiculous photos or just make your profile completely private. Also make sure your Gmail icon is something not embarassing.
5. Recommendation letters don't mean much. It's that simple, an interview will confirm to the employer if you're legit or not.

Tips for interviews:

1. Bring 2-3 copies of your resume. Most employers are too busy to print out your resume and have it ready when you come in. Also, sometimes 2-3 people will be in the interview room so make sure each person has a copy.
2. Don't overdress but also don't underdress. Showing up in busiess casual is always the way to go.
3. Practice what you're going to say beforehand. Don't show up to an interview unable to quickly and effortlessly answer questions about your skills, experience, and education.
4. Repeat back to the employer what they have said. If an employers tells you about their company and what kind of work they need done, just repeat that shit back to them when they ask you more about yourself. This will ensure you are one of their top choices.
5. BE CONFIDENT. Too often, potential employees will be fumbling with words and just makes you seem like you're bullshitting everything you're saying.

BONUS TIPS:
1. Respond within 2 hours to employer emails. If we have to wait on you, we assume it will be the same when you start working for us.
2. Make sure you have a valid reason thought out for why you're leaving your current job. If you say for more money or you just don't like the work, the new company won't like you either.
