Splinterlands is one of those play to earn games, which has been sustainable over the period of 5 years till date! Many play to earn games started their journey along with Splinterlands but have faded their existence. Yet, Splinterlands is here and bringing wonders to the eco system with all sorts of updates and innovative creations.

The game is becoming expensive and expensive as days are passing by! With the latest promotion of `Zyrial` card, which is of double splinter seems to be going nicely. Although, I was expecting it to go out of sale within 24 hours but yet its out there for grab, if you want any for your Splinter.

> #### LAND

Since land have been released, it was one of my goal to get some Splinterlands land for myself. I have been keeping a keen eye on this aspect and finally I was able to grab a piece of land for myself. If I am being honest, it took me almost two days and multiple readings of the [whitepaper](https://splinterlands.gitbook.io/the-secret-of-praetoria/) to actually understand, what and how the land is going to work! I was literally in shock and there were too much details to engulf in order to understand the basics of land and its structures. Well, I still need to dive deep in, to get to know more about it in my future endeavor with lands.

Tbh, it would take a lot of time for a newbie to understand this land phase. I doubt, if any new user will get into this land stage. Either way, there were countless aspects which needed to be taken care of before purchasing the land.

* Which edition cards (were in my grasp) 
* Land Terrain Type
* Gold/normal Foil cards (works best for me)

and so much more!

I wanted to grab a piece of land and study further for my future purchases. Owning something, does gives some additional motivation, which helps to do deep research.

> #### Where should I buy a plot from?

There are multiple options to own a land. [HIVE-Engine](https://hive-engine.com/trade/PLOT), Splinterlands market place (ingame) and if you want already claimed land plot Peakmonsters is out there. Since, I wanted a single plot I preferred already surveyed plot. Since, purchasing from HE/ingame would be sort of gambling for me. Also the price of plot in he/ingame is sort of crazy.

I moved to peakmonsters and started to search for the best option for myself. Few key points that I wanted in my plot. It should be surveyed (I do not want extra cost to survey) so that I know which type of terrain I am getting, it should include **Building in a box** which will save me some extra cost.

Magical and occupied lands are out of the equation. Since they cost more than $150 in the market. I wanted to go for common lands. But after some due diligence I wanted to see how much they costed.

There is no production boost from Common plots. Which is why, I tried to get a legendary plot. But damn, the price of those are insane! So I tried to get to epic. Again the price was not in my range, thus I settled for a rare plot! Which gave me an additional 10% boost in my production! Still better than 0%. And the price difference from a common plot is $20.

You can do the calculation by the details below. Judging from the market owning a max Alpha, Beta edition is sort of pricy. The same goes Untamed edition as well.

I went for Chaos Legion edition, with `Common Gold Max Level` cards. Which would give me some perks regarding the production points. With five cards I would get a total production point of 10,000. 


If I would have gone with chaos legion legendary max card I would get a production point of 1500. Sounds like a better deal to me with this phase. Also, its a GF card, which might come in handy in the coming years! I must say, GF cards have a very thin market. It was quite difficult to obtain max level cards from the market. And I can not imagine what would happen once the staking cards gets activated in the land 1.5!

The cards that I am playing to utilize in this particular land! I went for the Forest terrain. As in terms of rarity and price this particular plot was available at the cheapest. Also there are not much forest lands out there for sell as well. Which sort of makes it little more rare than other terrains.

> #### Cards that I choose to utilize in my land

I would prefer to use Life and Earth card to boost some additional % in my land. Which is why I wanted to minimalize my investment on this first plot. Yes, they are subjective to change!

I want to own at least 10 plots in Splinterlands. Yes, I want more but atm this is the goal to achieve before the land comes into full function. There are multiple assets that I want to own in Splinterlands like many other players. But with the $$ in mind things gets complicated. But Splinterlands is such a platform that it is indeed making us buy as much as possible, as many as possible lol!
