Splinterlands one of the most active game on the HIVE blockchain! So much has been happening lately and it is literally difficult to be everywhere within the game. But there are opportunities almost everywhere within the game. May that it be in the POV of an investor or a player or even as a content creator!

Since you can be a part of the game via playing it does requires investments. But before that you can get to know about Splinterlands and digging up the history you might be fascinated of how far this game has evolved and how much it has given to the community is several ways. To play the game you do not have to invest right away. Check in the game and first play the game without purchasing the spellbook. Yes, you can do that. You will be able to play the game but you will not get any sort of rewards from this gameplays. If you are satisfied with the game you are welcome to purchase the spell book and you are good to go. That is just the beginning of the journey in Splinterlands.

To be honest getting a good deck in Splinterlands is indeed a hard task. One needs to have some deep pockets to obtain a certain set of max decks. But either way once that phase is taken care of a lot can indeed be achieved within the game. There are several ways to get ROI for your SL investments 
* Everyday reward
* Season End reward
* Tournaments 
* Play other accounts and split rewards (As a scholar)
* Share two of your posts in SL curation every week

Although, I want to talk specifically about few ways where one can earn passively in Splinterlands. Yes, I have been doing that and so far in this bear market it is probably one of the best option out there!

* #### Validator Node License

Splinterlands has been trying to go decentralized for quite some time and Validator Node Licenses is indeed one of the best way to achieve that goal. In the coming days most of the tasks would be operated by node holders. And it would be a significant change within the eco system of the game. So being a node operator has its benefit. Running a node would require some extra tasks and for that rewards would be given out. Currently every node owners are getting 22 SPS and 4 Vouchers (approx) everyday.

If you sum it up it is pretty nice amount in returns for a substantial amount of investment. Although, I am not selling the SPS or the vouchers that I am getting return my Nodes. One validator Node price `TOTAL: 44,295.847 SPS ($2,500 USD) + 500 VOUCHERS` That is indeed a pretty hefty amount of money to invest upon a node. While if you are looking at the secondary market the price is quite lower at the moment. At current price it would cost around $1500 to get a node from the secondary market. Some users are selling Nodes in a loss. Not sure why but I am sure they have their reasons.

While in long run the rewards will reduce significantly. And if the price of SPS and vouchers rises than the users who have got themselves node/s will be among the lucky ones. Although still the current rewards which are being sent to the node owners are not that bad as well. And as long as the sell does not commence much on node the reward will stay this way. Which is more Node owners the less rewards every Node owners get.

* #### SPS Staking

Another way of getting passive rewards is for hodling SPS into your account. Just stake SPS and you will getting some decent SPS rewards for your stake. I have been getting some nice rewards for my stakes SPS. Although, I am not cashing those out instead I am compounding them  as we speak. So this way my SPS is increasing and I am also boosting my everyday rewards little by little.

* #### Renting Cards

As of this moment I do not have a complete set of deck. And I am often busy in apprehending my real life tasks as well. So putting the cards idle is not really beneficial for me. So I rented them out using Splex.gg service. So far I am pretty impressed with the outcome and I intend to use this service for some time as well. Until I get some tasks out of my hand and I am slowly trying to buy cards and help my deck grow.

This are the few ways which I am using for getting some passive income for the assets that I have in Splinterlands. Honestly, there are many other ways to get rewarded for being in SPlinterlands. I am trying to invest more as days are going by. Yes, I must admit SL requires quite a lot of investments but the ROI's are also impressive compared to many other play to earn games out there. And also this bear market is sort of an eye opener for us all.
