Sending you hugs, mama!!  I'm a solo mom in Thailand, running my own business and raising my daughter (now 14) - have been on my own for more than 10 years.  Yes, the balance of work and being a mom IS TOUGH.  But you are doing the best and most important "career" ever!!  There are some great mother groups and communities on steem whom I am sure will love, support and encourage you too.

Impressive your life story. You made the right choice, choosing to be with your baby, it will count both for you and for him. I quit many times in my life but it's not always been good.

I love your story! And it's looking to me like you made the right choice. There will always be a possibility to have a career later on in life, but you will never get back those precious moments with a child. I was the same as you, when I was pregnant with my first, I was sure I would go back to my job after she was born. As soon as she was born, that changed. I didn't want to and my perspective changed completely. All that mattered was my time with her. Thank you for sharing your story!

You did the most important thing here and that is to choose to look after your baby. Nothing else matters anymore.
I have also walked away from many highly paid jobs in my life until the day that I decided to do what I love to do. That is to kelp others.
I earn a very small salary, but I have never been happier.
You live only once and you have to do what your heart tells you to do.

I can understand your complete situation sis.. Yes, sometimes we have to take small break or pause for our own cause well you have a gem now.. Your son... To be honest I know how job life works in Bangladesh and we don't have proper environment for our baby as you have discussed... Well, yes I gave up on lots of situations but I never feel regret as I have got so much after that. I felt frustrated but now I feel like it was my best decision to gave up or walk away otherwise I won't achieve anything what I am now... Love your thoughts...

I bet that so many people can relate to this. It is unfortunate that mother's have to give up their careers to have children. It doesn't seem fair really . But at least you'll have the right attitude to it that causes you less suffering.

 I'm glad though that you have realised that climbing up the ladder does not necessarily make you a successful person or give your life meaning. We are often lead astray by that idea and can feel jealous ... again more suffering. when we realise we have been socially conditioned to feel particular desires about success we can free ourselves from that. Clearly you adore your little boy and you have a lovely life. How lucky you are. And also found steemit which makes you super lucky too haha.

@rem-steem I can relate with you when you speak on the topic of others judging you. It happens all the time yet most don't realize it isn't their place. Even with good intentions, it still isn't a place for others to comment. Giving perspective is one thing - but judging others for what they do or don't do is another issue. I too have passed up promotions for more personal life matters. Good for you for putting first what you believe to be better for you in your life. No one else can tell you what you need for your life experience. Thank you for sharing your post.

Of course it is never easy to choose between something you really want, and something which you want more, especially if they are mutually exclusive things. In fact, even if you end up with something you may not have wanted, it will offer other good things, and you may even realize that it is what you really wanted, without knowing it. Certainly, there isn't too much room on the top of the pyramid, and being a good mother is not paid for in money. But from your story it seems like you've made the right decision. 
My favorite part: "There is also a inner feeling I think which let us know when to get out, when to look on other things. Listen to your guts feeling." I think this sums up the answer very well of how we know when it's time to let go.
