<p>I always think that "<strong>life is a contrast</strong>". I do not doubt that comparisons are annoying. Diseases, broken hearts, not giving a F*ck, the alarm clock, the neighbor learning how to play the guitar and several other hateful things, naturally. <strong>Everything is natural, because everything exists</strong>. We never talk about what is good or bad. We talk about what IS and about what is natural, both by implied definition. Even death, when all that we hate -including comparisons and the hate to comparisons- no longer matters.</p>

<p>The problem is that <strong>not everything matters the same to us</strong>. Your girlfriend and the girl next to her are not the same. If you doubt that, try to kiss the other girl to clearly understand that your girlfriend clearly understands that <strong>she and her are not the same</strong>. And don't use that "twin sister" excuse, we both know that you know which one is which; but you got that fetish right after you met them.</p>

<p><strong>Comparing</strong> lead us to understand that we are different, and what its worse, <strong>some are better than others are worse</strong>. This is not something I mention at random, because I'm progresist, and a progresist would never say something like that. This is neither said by a contemporary dictator. <strong>This premise</strong> politically incorrect and cruel is actually <strong>environmentally dictated</strong>, he environment we roam in a daily basis. Yet I don't want to dig too deep into this, because I just got the Moral Jogging pants from the laundry.</p>

<p><strong>Differences</strong> exist, they are there. <strong>They are generally irrelevant</strong>, not bugging anybody. Oak and pine are not the same tree, but this does not change my life and cannot distract a lot with that fact. Perhaps because I live in a town full of cracked floor tiles and metabolic dog chow residues than trees.</p>

<p><strong>The problem appear when "A" and "B" are indistinctly different</strong>.<br>
-"Peter, the human resources guy"<br>
-"The guy with huge ears?"<br>
-"That's Bill, he's cool; and he's does not have such big ears".<br>
-"It looks like Peter is going Up, I'm not sure, a spot in accountancy just got free, Mary is leaving."<br>
-"No!"<br>
-"Yes, I know, she's great; but, oh well, she's a thousand years old and wants to retire".<br>
<br>
Bill is going insane. Because of course, position "A" and "B" do not cash in the same. And since Bill is evil and envious he want to butcher Peter.</p>

<p>I'm sure this does not happen among animals. You know, animals are good, animals do not kill their own kind, they do not do kinky things with the ones of their own gender... and a lot more asseverations coming out of a pink purse with a hello kitty logo printed on top, and lots of stickers. A purse that <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frans_de_Waal" target="_blank">Frans de Wall</a> probably did not have, he designed a <strong>rather simple experiment that tested the "purity of heart" in animals</strong> and their souls. As in any job, the first thing he did before starting was ask for two cups of Capuchin. Not machine Capuchin, where half of the cup is spilled into the ground because one forgets to put the cup in place. He grabbed two Capuchin Monkeys next to each other, and <strong>let the games begin</strong>. He gave a piece of cucumber to the one on the left, and the monkey, kindly, gave him a small rock. Gave a piece of cucumber to the one on the right and he also returned a small rock. Since the experiment wasn't so fun, yet, Franz had the brilliant idea of giving grapes to the monkey on the right, monkeys love grapes. <strong>Everything was cool</strong>. Franz gave cucumber to the monkey on the left and got a small rock in return. Franz gave grapes to the one on the right and the monkey, happier, gave him a small rock. The left monkey (lets call him Lefty) started to return the "payment rock" every time with less joy, since he noticed that Righty was getting Grapes for the same payment. This small story ends with Lefty pissed thanks to this injustice and stops performing the tasks, rejects the cucumber and nearly starts throwing stones to Righty and Franz.</p>

<p>Looks like Peter and Bill's issues had a background, from the times they were friends and went out fishing for chicks after work. -I thought that they got along perfectly, they have the same vibe, they are rather similar. -Exactly. And <strong>when two things are similar, we need to learn to discriminate them</strong>, because if not, that's when your girlfriend will slap you. The topic deepens as a woman found them at a the bar, being cool, trending to imbecile, she saw two good looking guys. Now, when thing are really different, to individualize them is very easy; but when they are similar, the eye sharpens and right there we've a cute guy and a big eared one (and short!). By contrast one is a big eared midget.</p>

<p>Coming back to the promotion topic,<strong> that feeling of wanting to set everything on fire that is shared</strong> by Bill and his furry little cousin have something to do with <strong>how do we react to <a href="https://steemit.com/science/@renzoarg/human-resources-oil-the-mother-root-of-social-inequality" target="_blank">inequality</a></strong>. There's a nice game in experimental economics called <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultimatum_game" target="_blank">Ultimatum game</a>, where its shown that sometimes we prefer to not win as long as others also get nothing. <strong>We prefer to trash the cucumbers if that means that somebody will not get grapes</strong>.</p>

<p>Evolution granted us this primitive and unavoidable <strong>capacity to get outraged</strong> upon an <strong>injustice</strong>, specially when we are the losing side. It is related to the way we organize ourselves. <strong>We live surrounded by others</strong>, others that are not rocks, but others that we interact with, permanently in a cooperative way. There's an egotistic behavior in the background, yes; but there also is a counterpart that reacts <strong>to inequality</strong>. A yin-yang of wanting to eat a bunch of grapes, while wishing to share, because we also need the other people.</p>

<p>This is not a final match between good and evil. <strong>Evolution does not make value judgments</strong> neither it dresses up with a "moral" suit. What is there, what is, the natural, <strong>is there because somehow it favors our species</strong>, and the individuals... Thus, the genetic transcendence.</p>

<p>Comparisons are annoying, but inevitable. Sometimes they keep us away from that gorgeous brunette and others, of the cucumber. That is how, we sail the events that surround us, with more or less luck <strong>bitching between egotism and altruism</strong> in a complex game of shared ambitions that, whether you like it or not, is natural.</p>
