Some days are just good days and today was one of them! Took a drive east to near Penamacor today to meet up with @eco-alex. I had a great afternoon checking out the 'stead, being fed lunch and planting a lemon tree. For starters the drive out as just liquid - nice weather, clear roads and just beautiful scenery all the way, and Alex's plot wasn't anywhere near as remote as I'd anticipated - it was very easy regular roads and then only a few hundred metres of track, so my car liked me for that! I did overshoot the pin Alex gave me by a little way, but I took a little walk and this kind of told me I'd just missed a turning:  So I met Alex and Rufus whose currently staying on Alex's land and had the tour of the plot - which is a really nice set up - remote enough to be private yet still only a five minute drive from the nearest town (kind of like where I'm staying now). There's also a nice mix of landscape - plenty of trees and some rocks for chilling and nice zones for a few dwellings, and what seems like some decent quality soil too. Alex kindly made a delicious lunch of miso and noodle soup and a cous cous salad with Tahini dressing and then we got to planting a lemon tree, the first new tree on the plot, which I was delighted to help plant, and mulch, gotta have mulch!  And while I was there Alex's neighbours turned up and they agreed that he'd buy another acre of land for 3000 Euros with 20 olive trees - I think I was more convinced of that being a bargain than he was, but with my limited knowledge of land prices around here, that sounds like a real deal! Had to take the obligatory selfie to finish:  It was also nice to have a day, or at least an afternoon, offline! Crypto prices are a little unreal ATM and it was REALLY NICE to spend some time in the real world. Yes, today was a good day! Looks great! We've had two days of hard frost here - normal for the time of year, but I'd got used to the milder weather. Love lemon trees. Where my sister lives they grow wild. I'm always astonished that the fruit are just left abandoned on the ground - much as we treat leaves.
