On the joys of selling your flat, moving back in with your parents (temporarily) and saving yourself £1278 a month!
I'm just back following an enforced week off steemit due to my flat sale finally completing and my having to spend most of last week finalizing moving. 

I haven't actually bought another property yet, so I'm officially nomadic (well, living at my Dad's/ camping out as we're currently in the middle of the hottest summer I can ever remember here in the U.K.)

I'm now in a position to get back on it with steemit/ blogging full time... but this is just a quick one to celebrate my current fortuitous financial situation... moving back in with my Dad/ camping is going to save me a massive £1278/ month! 

My regular monthly expenditure is now temporarily reduced from £1736 a month last month, to a mere (anticipated) £458 for this coming month, mainly because my mortgage is now paid off, and most of my utilities have dropped to zero. The only expenditure item to have increased is my phone, as I need mobile data, which ain't that cheap. [I knocked up a little viz in Tableau here]).

Obviously my actual expenditure will be higher.... but if I'm tight, I can get by on another £300 squid for mainly food and fuel, and some tat. 

And of course I will eventually buy another property, so take on a (smaller than before) mortgage, but in the meantime it's happy days for me, I'm in a serious holiday mood!

I feel like that is expensive for a gym membership. Is that an average price for a gym in the UK?

The gym is a total love-hate relationship - it's really more of a 'health club' - gym, free classes, and why I pay: the pool/ steam/ sauna/ Jacuzzi and a wonderful little south facing lounge area out the back. 

It's pretty much my only luxury. I say 'love-hate' - in the sense that in ERE terms it's insane paying that much given that all I do is use the functional fitness zone (Kettlebells etc) and the stationary bike in the gym 3-4 times a week, but the thought of the sauna etc. motivates me. 

It's also love-hate in the sense that it attracts the worst kind of Surrey type - at 10.30 a.m. the car park is rammed full of 4 wheel drives, the car of choice of the detestable yummy mummies who have managed to snare a stockbroker as a husband, doing their yoga-lates classes and having loud conversations about where they've been on holiday recently. 

I'm giving up the membership after summer.

I don't think there is anything wrong with a gym membership.  I actually used to be quite the gym rat myself. I was just curious why the price seemed so high. We all need to have a luxury or two to indulge in!

All in all, this summer's just gone from being anxiety ridden (selling a flat is a horrible processes) to now being one of the best times of my entire life. I cannot describe the utter sense of relief about completing and finally having the money from the sale in my bank account. On top of that I've got 7 days left of work (still with 2 months salary to come!) during which I basically have to do nothing, the weather is simply the best in living memory and England are probably going to win the world cup, not that I'm a football fan, but it's seriously good vibes around here at the moment - where my Dad lives is proper Brexit heartlands, the kind of place where football matters more than life itself.

I'm in such a good mood, I can even forgive the local politics ATM.
