Thanks to mainly the men (and probably the odd woman) who collectively make up ‘the man’ my January 2021 was a bit shit - mainly spent fretting over and trying to deal with getting some of my illegally frozen funds released from an evil financial institution (now released) and jumping through all sorts of hoops to sort my car out for matriculation (now passed). 

I’ve fallen back into a few bad habits because of time being somewhat turgid - my diet’s been shit, I’ve temporarily stopped running, and beJesus you should have seen the unkempt state my cabin ended up in after all this. 

Now, FINALLY, having recovered from the necessary many beer-infused celebrations of getting my fucking money and passing said matriculation, and having spent a couple of hours tidying the cabin,  I’m now finally in a position to get back on track. 

And what better way to get one’s life back on track than to write a list, or two, and why not publish said list to a blockchain, I mean it’s a viable use-case isn’t it?!? 

And so it is with much delight and an already clearing head that I humbly publish and commit the following to an immutable (assuming all the witness servers don’t get taken down simultaneously) ledger: 

- LIST ONE - the renewed ‘healthy lifestyle’ daily-ish taks for 2021 and beyond LIST 
- LIST TWO - the shitty chores that must be done to keep  the man at bay and ideally to be done without taking up too much of this-man’s time LIST. 

### LIST ONE - DAILY HEALTHY LIFESTYLE LIST 

This is just a reminder of positive things I will do (note the INTENT there) 5-7 (so that’s most, I am a realist) days of the week:

1. Meditate - I bought my meditation all the way from England to Portugal, but all its done for four months is pick up dog hair. Time to sit on the damn thing. 
2. Yoga/ stretch five days a week - I haven’t abandoned this entirely in the last four months, but I have been slack - honestly, 30 minutes a day, if not 20, if not 10 just doing a few quick stand up stretches, it’s sufficient to get yer spine lengthened and aligned! 
3.  Eat well - push breakfast back to 10,00 a.m. - now it’s not fucking freezing in the mornings anymore, and eat mainly fruit in the day and find some decent one-pot stove top recipes for the evenings. 
4. Do a good two hours of tidying and shitty chores (see below)  daily to keep on top of what must be done - do these as early as possible. Two hours a day is enough, but not on weekends for shitty Bureaucratic chores, just cleaning at the weekends. 
5 Running OR walking - If I can’t run three days a week, walk for one of them. But I’m not going to push for three runs immediately. 
6. . Do all of the above in the early morning and save the late mornings and afternoons for working. 
6. . Get up earlier - alarm now set for 7.10, wind it forward until 6.30 with the lengthening days, maybe earlier as late spring cometh. 
7. Find time every day to do something FUN - like playing the Didgeridoo - that’s literal, it’s not a euphemism for something else. 
8. Get back into my daily Hive and Social Media chores - 10-15 mins a day of micro tasks ain’t so bad! 
9. Do some language learning every day - I really need my own personal phrase book! 

Nine is a good commit at this point. 


### LIST TWO - Shitty chores that must be done list….

There are so so many, and many just for Feb…

-  Go collect my new printer (I just found out it’s been sitting in the local post office for about two weeks, oops. 
- Go collect my mail from the other post office, when it arrives. 
- Charge batteries 
- Cancel my car insurance and UK breakdown cover - I should have done this last week, it’s costing me a pound a day, I think I get refunds. 
- Check out what to do when my temporary Portuguese driving license expires in Late Feb, BEFORE  late Feb!
- Do money transfers to my Portuguese bank account for the land purchase. 
Sort out all my Portugues documents - copy them, put the necessary ones in the car!
- Shave head. 
- Chase my new residency certificate - I’ve heard nothing for too long!
- Change all my UK addresses. 
- Research the pros and cons of changing my tax base to Portugal, ideally BEFORE the end of this tax year. Check my NI contributions. 
- ***** 
- Do a list of stuff I need from the UK - including car spares. 
- Sort ‘notes’ on PC and phone - too much random stuff there like address/ phone numbers/ portugues phrases and it all needs consolidating. 
- Upgrade MacOs. 
- Upgrade iPad. 
- Sort non essential back ups/ storage space 
- Research pros and cons of selling my house. 
- NB - probably a whole load of stuff relating to my land purchase once I’ve bought it! 
- Sort out a few more minort scratches on the car
- Figure out whether I really need to get my car serviced every year? Or can I do this myself? 
- General spring clean
- Do a list of what I need to buy for the land. A short list I can’t afford much!

### Priorities 

A few of these are urgent and involve, I think, saving me money and being legal in Portugal. From half way down the list I get into non urgent stuff and I'm really getting ahead. 

If I can get the first half a dozen done before the end of Feb, the middling ones done before the end of March and the rest done before the end of April, that'll do me. 

Of course other stuff will come up that gets thrown in the way and takes up the odd morning, but this is a nice list that's helped me sort my head out! 


Right, I'd better get on with cancelling my car insurance!
