If you want to change your career, quit your job or end a relationship, you should think deeply. That's not overthinking because you are going to make a big change in your life and it will affect a lot of things. But if you spend too much time thinking about silly things over and over again, you should try to get rid of that. Yes, I agree - it's easier said than done. Remember only thinking about something is not going to change anything in your life unless you take action. I thought I should write a post about overthinking. Here I am. So, thinking is gone because I take action. And I don't have to think it again. So if you want to get rid of overthinking, first of all, stop thinking that you are overthinking and do something about it. Spend quality time with your family. Go out with your friends, have some fun, do things that you enjoy, keep moving and get busy in your stuff. If you are busy doing things, your mind will also be busy on that.
