I posted an article on Reddit a few days ago.  First they dow. Then  I was told it was useless information (which many other people disagreed with).  The article is about painting an ugly beat up spinet (a compact piano) - that someone wanted to keep as an heirloom - but they didn't want it junking up the place.

I had 3 people claiming to be Piano technicians commenting on how scandalous it was (to paint an old Piano) - and how anyone with half a brain would have removed the piano in pieces to paint it, etc, etc.

I replied to all of them - then deleted the thread.   I had upvotes - but you know what happens when you have upvotes on reddit and someone decides your content is useless.  They bot vote you down and try to engage you in the comments.

So I got some short term traffic - now I dont have the backlinks - but at least I dont have to explain myself to those twits.  Or have them follow me around for a few days interfering with whatever else I do on there.

I'm a member of the Piano Technicians Guild.  I know how to take apart a Piano. I know when a Piano in no longer useful for anything but a decorative cabinet.   Spinet's were cheap small piano's meant for your apartment or small home.  In the age of Pianos - almost everyone had one.  A lot of old Piano's require hefty investment to make playable - sometimes people win the lottery and do it - these days most people buy new digital Pianos.  The reason it was painted the way it was painted was so she could economize time - I showed her the diagram of the piano and she figured out the easiest way for her to do her job.   Its a 400lb decoration that's being saved from going into the trash.  I deleted the link because I know from experience some of these guys will continue arguing no matter what you say - so its better to save the keystrokes.

I hate Reddit because it seems like everyone is dick.  I've rarely had people be dicks to me on here in the two years i've posted.   I think Steemit offers better SEO opportunity.  To anyone out there who thinks the bots serve no purpose - heres one for you -  If you bid your post so that its above about $10 - the links in your post become "follow" links.  You get a link from a high DA site - not to mention the other sites like steemkr who may not be as powerful - but its still a good link.

As for Reddit I think im going to ditch my 11 year old account and get someone else to post for me.  I think its still a good seo tool - I just really don't have time for the trolls on there.  Some subreddits are run  by people who take their position way too seriously. Maybe i'll find someone on fiverr to post for me..

I've got links on the Steem blockchain that will be there as long as someone is witnessing. I wish I could say the same thing about my Reddit account.  There's nothing worse than providing good content and having it criticized on Reddit.. 
I'm starting running out of social networks to cut out of my life!
