QOTW: What habits or addictions, both good and bad, have you developed that you would like to get rid of?
<center>Happy day to this beautiful community, very interesting this question which I want to respectfully express my opinion starting with the definition of both


From my point of view, I believe that habits are all those things that we as humans practice continuously and that certainly define our behavior, which characterizes our identity; while I consider addictions as a behavior where people act impulsively, letting themselves be carried away by emotions.

It is very likely that some habits become addictions since to reach an addiction we must first have it as a habit for better or for worse and these in turn play an important role in our behavior

In this sense, it is important to highlight that we all have habits that we have acquired throughout our lives and we have also acquired some addictions that we have often considered bad, but although addictions have been seen as mental illnesses since we always consider them negative and obviously when we practice things and exaggerate it as a priority in everything I think we are facing an imbalance since all the things that we practice well as habits or addictions must be done in a balanced way.

   For example, there are people who read a lot and some say you are addicted to reading. However, reading is very good and beneficial for mental health and for life since someone who reads is a person who thinks and this is a habit that for many becomes an addiction in their opinion because it is practiced daily and many times a day

In another sense, there are addictions that are really harmful to health because they are evidenced as bad habits that damage life.

There are different habits that today have become addictions such as: irregularly eating high-calorie foods, junk foods, sweets among others that affect our health and yet we practice it as well as high-risk vices; others have a habit of eating very low-calorie foods and exaggerate in their type of diet


I have always believed in balance as a type of behavior in the human being to be able to maintain a correct posture towards life since when we practice our habits that we conceptualize as values in a balanced way we grow as people and in the same way it happens with our addictions when they interfere in our life in a positive way; But when the addiction is negative, it is obvious that it has not been possible to control it and it has gotten out of our hands, taking on another type of situation given the circumstances and our personality.

  I can say that in my life I have practiced many habits but I have also had some addictions which I have managed in a balanced way with great logic, choosing to persist in those that are beneficial to me and avoiding those that at some point have been able to damage my mental physical    health.


Many times some behaviors can become addictions and one of the things that I have tried to heal is "prudence" since I have considered it as a virtue and wise contribution in our lives, since previously and on many occasions it was considered reckless but the negative effects of these have taught me to balance this behavior that caused a lot of trouble and that today  i am eliminating it from my behavior  because I have understood that prudence avoids us many things and recklessness leads us to many faults

We never want the good things we have learned to leave our lives, but we want to ignore the negative ones to be better people, because we all want to do our best and really the bad experiences that became addictions have taught us that balance is one of the best acts to preserve our attitudes and correctly manage our successes and failures</center>

This is great! Whatever habit we have inculcated in our lives, there should be a balance to improve our lives. We need to gradually eliminate the bad habit that has turned addiction so it doesn't damage our personalities while we keep working on improving our good habits that is working better in our lives. Striking a balance between everything we do is just the way to go, because with such we won't get overwhelmed or bucked up with unnecessary addiction and the likes.

Like you said, prudence is indeed a virtue that when adopted will help us avoid most unnecessary activities and engagement that could put us in trouble.
