**We are used to cinematographic experiences being built on specific goals and purposes, most of the films and television series we consume are confirmed by a logical sequence of causes and effects that in the end must always justify their own existence, when the credits roll. we must be able to discern what was the true intention of what we saw, regardless of whether it is abstract or concrete.**

When people say that "Aftersun" has no plot, this is an opinion that should be taken somewhat literally, since in fact, the opposite is true: It is capable of carrying out its plot with such a high level of precision that He doesn't even feel the need to communicate it to the viewer at all times.

In it, we see how Sophie, using several of the recordings that her father made about the last vacation they spent together when she was a child, reflects on all their shared experiences, trying to understand from an adult perspective, what she did not understand about her own father at that point in his life.

This means that far from having a final twist or any type of tragic relief that could change the course of the entire work, Aftersun is entirely dedicated to establishing the relationship between its two protagonists: an 11-year-old girl who is just beginning to have contact with the real world and her father, a 30-year-old man who obviously adores her, but at the same time is obviously submerged in his own misery.

**In this way, Aftersun is a film that explores many themes: the loss of innocence, the passage of time as an inevitable reality, and a father's love for his daughter beyond the obvious difficulties that surround his day to day. It is about perspectives, connecting intimately with those around us, understanding the pain of others and expressing our own.**

**Estamos acostumbrados a que las experiencias cinematográficas se construyan sobre objetivos y finalidades concretas, la mayoría de las películas y series de televisión que consumimos están confirmados por  una secuencia lógica de causas y efectos que al final siempre deben justificar su propia existencia, cuando los créditos ruedan debemos ser capaces de discernir cuál era la verdadera intención de lo que vimos, independientemente de que sea abstracto o concreto.**

Cuando la gente dice que "Aftersun" no tiene trama, esta es una opinión que debe tomarse de manera poco literal, ya que de hecho, sucede todo lo contrario:  Es capaz de llevar su trama a cabo con un nivel de precisión tan alto que ni siquiera siente la necesidad de comunicárselo a él espectador en todo momento. 

En ella, vemos como Sophie, usando varias de las  grabaciones que hizo su padre sobre las últimas vacaciones que pasaron juntos  cuando ella era un niña, reflexiona sobre todas sus experiencias compartidas, tratando de comprender desde una óptica adulta, aquello que no entendía sobre su propio padre en ese momento de su vida. 

Esto quiere decir que lejos de contar con un twist final o cualquier tipo de relevación trágica que pueda cambiar el curso de toda la obra, Aftersun se dedica enteramente a establecer la relación entre sus dos protagonistas: una niña de 11 años que apenas empieza a tener contacto con el mundo real y su padre, un hombre de 30 años que evidentemente la adora, pero que al mismo tiempo evidentemente se encuentra sumergido en su propia miseria.

**De esta forma, Aftersun es una película que explora muchísimos temas: La perdida de la inocencia, el paso del tiempo como una realidad inevitable, y el amor de un padre hacia su hija más allá de las obvias dificultades que rodean su día a día. Se trata de perspectivas, de conectar íntimamente con aquellos que nos rodean, comprender el dolor ajeno y expresar el nuestro propio.**
