**I've always been a loyal fan of the Fast And Furious saga and as those of you familiar with these movies will know, this is something that requires you to bend over backwards when it comes to what we consider quality entertainment.**
I don't want to be sour about it, the first 3 installments gave us a cheesy but fun story with the world of street racing and crime as a backdrop, while the later films took more elements of the traditional action using the pre-set characters for move the plot.
Although the result is effective and the figures at the box office prove it (we are talking about a giant of the stature of Marvel), then we have various films with a very different general energy and, as a consequence, people who love them for various reasons that do not always know. line up.
On a personal level, this dichotomy is what ruins my enjoyment of Fast 9, which uses the most successful elements of the series since The Fourth Movie but also dispenses with many factors that made it enjoyable.
The action and its progressive growth in terms of scale (That here we get to the Moon, damn it) although it is fun it also lacks any kind of soul and Fast 9 feels less and less interested in giving us explanations - and that's fine until you decide questioning your own internal logic

This is not enough for Justin Lin's work, but he must also retroactively alter the events leading up to the first film to fit the senseless future they are showing us.
We not only revive the dead but we make up relatives out of nowhere and totally alter facts that have already been clearly established, this, although it may feel good within Fast 9, collapses with extreme ease when we understand it as part of such a long-lived saga .
Desperately he seeks to keep our attention through cameos and winks but the structure of the film does not contribute to this, behind are the days of Fast Five or Fast 7 itself that at least respected the norms of any narrative, nothing here has a clear purpose and the characters act to deliver a show.
Visually boring and with special effects - practical and digital - that do not measure up when compared to previous installments, Fast 9 is a film whose role is too strange and reaffirms that since the painful death of Paul Walker focus has been lost.
As I said at the beginning, I have always followed the saga and have always been willing to accept all its changes and various approaches - crazy as they were - but at least for the moment there was not a single film that felt so cynical and offensive, lacking in any kind of heart and disappointingly using those characters we have known and loved for almost two decades.
Many will say that it is pretentious to expect so much from a Fast And Furious installment, but they forget that it was a franchise that at various times knew how to perfectly mix the entertaining with the emotional and the action - even in its most exaggerated moments - very well measured.
**It's a shame that as a franchise it lost focus and became one more of the bunch.**

**Siempre he sido fiel seguidor de la saga Fast And Furious y como aquellos que estén familiarizados con estas películas sabrán, esto es algo que requiere dar el brazo a torcer muchísimas veces cuando se trata de lo que consideramos entretenimiento de calidad.**
No quiero ser agrio al respecto, las primeras 3 entregas nos entregaban una historia cursi pero divertida con el mundo de las carreras callejeras y el crimen como trasfondo, mientras que las películas posteriores tomaban más elementos de la acción tradicional usando los personajes pre-establecidos para mover la trama.
Aunque el resultado es efectivo y las cifras en taquilla lo demuestran (Hablamos de un gigante de la talla de Marvel), tenemos entonces diversas cintas con una energía general muy distinta y, como consecuencia, gente que las ama por diversas razones que no siempre se alinean.
A nivel personal esta dicotomía es la que arruina mi disfrute de Fast 9, la cual emplea los elementos más exitosos de la saga desde La cuarta película pero también prescinde de muchos factores que la hacían disfrutable.
La acción y su progresivo crecimiento en términos de escala (Que aquí llegamos hasta la Luna, coño) aunque es divertida también carece de cualquier tipo de alma y Fast 9 cada vez se siente menos interesada en darnos explicaciones - y eso está bien hasta que decides cuestionar su propia lógica interna -.
A la obra de Justin Lin no le basta con esto, sino que aparte debe alterar los eventos previos al primer film de forma retroactiva para que encajen con el futuro sin sentido que nos están mostrando.
No solo revivimos a los muertos sino que nos inventamos parientes de la nada y alteramos totalmente hechos que ya fueron establecidos claramente, esto, aunque puede sentirse bien dentro de Fast 9, se derrumba con extrema facilidad cuando lo entendemos como parte de una saga tan longeva.
Desesperadamente busca mantener nuestra atención a través de cameos y guiños pero la estructura de la película no contribuye con esto, atrás quedaron los días de Fast Five o la propia Fast 7 que al menos respetaban las normas de cualquier narrativa, aquí nada tiene un propósito claro y los personajes actúan por entregar un espectáculo.
Visualmente aburrida y con efectos especiales - prácticos y digitales - que no dan la talla si los comparamos con entregas previas, Fast 9 es una película cuyo rol es demasiado extraño y reafirma que desde la dolorosa muerte de Paul Walker se ha perdido el foco.
Como dije al principio, siempre he seguido la saga y siempre he estado dispuesto a aceptar todos sus cambios y diversos enfoques - Por alocados que fueran -, pero al menos de momento no había una sola película que se sintiera tan cinica y ofensiva, carente de cualquier tipo de corazón y usando de forma decepcionante aquellos personajes que conocemos y amamos desde hace casi dos décadas.
Muchos dirán que es pretencioso esperar tanto de una entrega de Fast And Furious, pero olvidan que fue una franquicia que en varios momentos supo mezclar perfectamente lo entretenido con lo emotivo y la acción - Incluso en sus momentos más exagerados - muy bien medida.
**Es una lástima que perdiera el enfoque y se volviese una más del montón.**
