 [Source](https://www.ea.com/es-es/games/need-for-speed/need-for-speed-no-limits/amp/news/terminal-velocity-update) **All the screenshots in this post were taken directly from the game by me**  <div class="text-justify"> **It seems like these past few years have been a bit bumpy for Need For Speed as a franchise in general, not because its most recent games were necessarily bad, but because it seems to be struggling to adapt to modern gaming between misused micro-transactions and inconsistent perspectives regarding to what each delivery should be.**  Interestingly, the driving giant within EA has found a relatively large comfort zone in the mobile gaming market, with mixed but profitable results. Obviously, it would be a mistake to assume that a financially successful game for the company that makes it implies its objective quality, so I feel it's important to look at what "No Limit", one of its most prominent examples, has to offer. No Limit is a title that, although it appears to be the opposite, breaks the monotony of many video games within the genre, mixing elements of the Classic NFS with the simplicity of the modern racing game, although No Limit cannot completely avoid the use of micro-payments (somewhat understandable , considering its free to play nature) also knows how to balance things intelligently with meaty additions.  After dealing with the first half hour of mandatory redundant tutorials we have a campaign mode, special events, online challenges and daily missions that are constantly refreshed to keep us hooked, rationing our games in vouchers for "gasoline" that are spent based on the races in which we decide to compete. Its greatest virtue, probably, is the intuitive car customization system both in terms of mechanical and visual tuning, adding much more depth to the already surprising amount of vehicles that No Limit offers. We acquire parts and money as rewards that following certain combinations can be used to improve specific aspects of our vehicles: the engine, the turbo, the brakes... everything is managed in isolation and we are an integral part of the process.  This variety of options manages to be reminiscent of the glory years of Need For Speed, when titles like Underground 2, Carbon or Most Wanted knew how to give us a sense of belonging, as we customized each vehicle to our liking. Although No Limit adapts it to mobile devices by cutting a couple of corners, it is a pretty good incentive in the long run, which at times manages to overshadow its very superficial and monotonous management system. Regarding the rest? Decent but nothing overly remarkable, it's a visually appealing game, with busy but not overly overwhelming menu design and an overall street-like atmosphere that suits it. No Limits is an optimization of the typical free to play formula, embracing the typical problems of the format but bringing them to a level where living with them is never extremely uncomfortable, there is a sense of attractive progression and much more incentive to spend time than other titles within the genre as Asphalt himself. Obviamente, sería un error suponer que un juego exitoso en términos económicos para la empresa que lo crea implica su calidad objetiva, así que siento que es importante analizar lo que "No Limit", uno de sus ejemplos más prominentes, tiene para ofrecer. No Limit es un título que aunque aparenta lo contrario rompe la monotonía de muchos videojuegos dentro del género, mezclando con la simpleza del racing game moderno elementos propios de los NFS Clásicos, aunque No Limit no puede esquivar totalmente el uso de micro pagos (Algo entendible, considerando su naturaleza free to play) también sabe balancear las cosas de forma inteligente con añadidos sustanciosos.  Luego de lidiar con la primera media hora de mandatorios tutoriales redundantes tenemos un modo de campaña, eventos especiales, desafíos online y misiones diarias que se refrescan constantemente para mantenernos enganchados, racionando nuestras partidas en vales por "gasolina" que se gastan en función de las carreras en les que decidimos competir. Su mayor virtud, probablemente, sea el intuitivo sistema de personalización a los coches tanto en términos mecánicos como visuales de tuneo, agregando mucha más profundidad a la ya sorprendente cantidad de vehículos que No Limit ofrece. Adquirimos piezas y dinero como recompensas que siguiendo ciertas combinaciones pueden servir para mejorar aspectos específicos de nuestros vehículos: el motor, el turbo, los frenos... todo se maneja de forma aislada y somos una parte integra del proceso.  Está variedad de opciones logra ser reminiscente a los años de gloria de Need For Speed, cuando títulos como Underground 2, Carbon o Most Wanted sabían otorgarnos un sentido de pertenencia, a medida que personalizabamos cada vehículo a nuestro gusto. Aunque No Limit lo adapta a los dispositivos móviles cortando un par de esquinas es un incentivo bastante bueno a largo plazo, que a ratos logra eclipsar su sistema de manejo tan superficial y monótono. ¿Respecto a lo demás? Decente pero nada extremadamente notable, es un juego visualmente atractivo, con un diseño de menús recargado pero no extremadamente abrumados y una atmósfera general callejera que le sienta bien. No Limits es una optimización de la típica fórmula free to play, abrazando los problemas típicos del formato pero llevándolos a un plano en dónde convivir con ellos nunca es extremadamente incómodo, hay un sentido de progresión atractiva y muchos más incentivos para dedicarle tiempo que otros títulos dentro del género como el mismísimo Asphalt. La única experiencia que tuve con un Need For Speed en móvil fue el Most Wanted y no me gustó para nada, me encantaría probar este mas que todo por el tunning, es verdad lo que dices, la franquicia no ha estado teniendo buenos momentos en las últimas generaciones, pero en fin, seguramente lo pruebe dentro de poco, muy buen post amigo, me dieron ganas de jugarlo.
