What we think about ourselves
# Hi.

Welcome to my blog.

As usual, I was listening to an audiobook when a topic was touched upon that caught my attention. The writer says that we are what we think of ourselves although this is not necessarily true. Moreover, it is because of these thoughts that we create our reality. 

Although it is reasonable that as human beings we have all kinds of feelings and thoughts, the key is not to let them dominate us because if they are not good they can lead us to a precipice of self-pity. 

In this particular chapter, he invites us to master negative thoughts and emotions because when they occur frequently and with great intensity, they can lead us to create unpleasant situations. It is easy for our brain to have bad thoughts and mistrust because it assumes it as a protection and survival mechanism. However, we no longer live in the stone age.

Bienvenidos a mi blog.

Como siempre, estaba escuchando un audiolibro cuando se tocó un tema que me llamó la atención. El escritor dice que somos lo que pensamos de nosotros mismos aunque esto no es necesariamente cierto. Es más, es gracias a esos pensamientos que creamos nuestra realidad. 

Aunque es razonable que como seres humanos tengamos todo tipo de sentimientos y pensamientos, la clave es no dejar que nos dominen porque si no son buenos nos pueden llevar a un precipicio de autocompasión. 

En este capítulo en particular, nos invita a dominar los pensamientos y emociones negativas porque cuando se presentan con frecuencia y con gran intensidad, pueden llevarnos a crear situaciones desagradables. Es fácil que nuestro cerebro tenga malos pensamientos y desconfianza porque lo asume como un mecanismo de protección y supervivencia. Sin embargo, ya no vivimos en la edad de piedra.

With all due respect, I think the writer is right. I do believe that what we think of ourselves is what we are. Regardless of how much we deny or control it, our true selves will show up. Our thoughts towards ourselves are so powerful that sometimes we are unaware how it possess or how we live by it. This is just my own opinion.
