Travelling Tassie last year, we came across a town that had an excellent approach to people leaving rubbish behind - beer cans, nappies, plastic bait bags, food wrappers. I couldn't have said it better myself - people who litter are brainless, thoughtless idiots.  I'll never understand it. How could one possibly be in a beautiful forest or standing on the edge of the ocean and just leave rubbish there? Is it because they don't care about *anything*, let alone the beauty of the natural world? But here they are, walking, fishing, driving, sight seeing. Surely it *matters* a little to them? The other day we drove down a road in the bush with no less than twenty empty cans of coke sitting there like big red dead beetles. Someone had sat there and drunk coke after coke and tossed their can out the window. And on a South Australian beach a month ago, wild and beautiful, we were filling a rubbish back with detritus - the tags from hook bags, bait bags, chip packets, cardboard beer boxes, cans, stubbies, wet wipes, plastic lids. Does anyone else feel despair when this happens? No, don't answer. There will be so many of you getting angry in the comments, but I doubt anyone will be saying 'yeah, I as guilty of leaving my shit behind last week, my bad'. People *know* it's wrong, and if there was someone there watching, they'd sure as hell pick it up. You only have to glare at a dog owner when their dog poops for them to guilty reach for a poo bag. Doing vanlife at the moment and going into many places in Queensland so far and the amount of rubbish some people leave behind is crazy. Evan see rubbish on the ground with bins only a minutes walk awayπ‘ I seen one dog owner let their dog run all over the camp site and it made a deposit on the ground so I turned and looked at them and back to the dog and back to the owners again until they got the message and went over and picked up the dogs crap. I mean how are some people so lazy and don't seem to consider anyone else but themselves. As long as they get to do whatever they want stuff anyone else seems to be the way nowπ« I also hear people complaining about camp area's being closed, I wonder why that happensπ€ If you can take something in to an area you sure can take the leftover packaging etc back out and put it in a bin it's not hard people.

You know why my friend.. mankind (as a whole) is selfish and inconsiderate. I can't stand it myself and am still one of the now almost extinct breed which carefully picks litter up. When I was in primary school. The headmaster would keep the entire school in if he spotted a single sweet wrapper (or anything) on the school field. The entire school would walk in a line and comb that field, ensuring that nothing remained. The kids were told how birds could choke on it (and other negative consequences to drum it home). One of the best lessons of my life - one which I treasure, truly. Those notices are dope. There should more everywhere. Keep well my buddy.
