Last week we were looking at a beautiful house to buy in Tasmania. It was well above our budget, and necessitated another loan. High on a hill, it overlooked a beautiful bay. We imagined walking down to the marina for breakfast, hours spent looking at birds from the upstairs windows, having guests. We called with the view to make an offer, however, it was already sold. We were crushed - our heads were in the clouds just imagining this life of ours, without the hard work renovating as we did with this house, and the thousands of hours creating a garden that ended up with the beautiful paradise we have now.  So we crashed down to earth, where we really needed to be all along. We're air signs, both, which means we spend a lot of time in our heads. We had a whole life mapped out in this house, spent hours, days thinking about it, forgetting who we were. Life means you kinda cycle through the elements, moving between them. The modern world just IS more air - it's all about thinking, being in our heads. But when you're tuned in to where you're at, it's easy to see where you are out of balance. If you can acknowledge where you are right now, you can embrace it, and figure out what to do next. Because an air sign being in her head all the time makes for a lot of anxiety, that's for sure. Things being 'up in the air' as they are, we're not sure where we are at, or where we are going. That's unnerving. As I said to my husband (also an air sign) that's just the way *things are* - we're never truly fixed, we only think we are. But it's a stressful time, being in the air. We need to seek our power in the earth. Luckily for Jamie, he's off at camp in the high country this week, and will hike it all out in nature. For me, it's the garden, the beach, the surf. I was talking to an old, old friend down the shops today and we were talking about Shiva, about oneness (this amongst conversations about bitcoin, Trump, the state of the market, and so on - I hadn't seen him in ten years and I actually thought he was dead. He did have a helluva cocaine habit, meaning he lots millions, and now lives in a house where he can see the dirt under the floorboards) and so on, and we talked about how surfing in the middle of no where was like that - connection to all that is.  It's about breathing and being fully present in the body and thus the moment. Breathing the Earth in all her guises - forest, waterfall, soil, waves. Amongst the chaos, *this* is where I go to ground. This is home. She heals me, holds me, nurtures me. It's odd going out and tending a garden I am leaving, but I feel a sense of responsibility for the earth I've been stewarding, and know that one of the reasons I am here on this earth is to connect to it. A big house in Tassie won't make that anymore easier. Perhaps a house with floorboards with holes where you can see the dirt beneath is where it's at.  Earth and ground is where I'm going to find purpose and self worth, and true abundance. Quite *literally*, I believe. I can be in my head a lot as we orchestrate the movement of our bodies from one state to another - planning, worrying, reacting and freaking out. But what I keep returning to is the earth, the earth, the earth, the earth. Both here and where I'm going. So now our real estate searches are a little simpler, a little less fancy, a little more connected. More land, less polished floorboards. More orchards, less views. More vegetable gardens, less 'oh my god look at your amazing house'. Besides, we're two air signs - we'll have that house looking amazing before you can say 'come back down to earth, dudes'. More community and connection, less loneliness and isolation. More rootedness. What I guess I'm connecting to is the joy of air - what keeps us moving, creating, involved in this thing called life - and the solace of earth. Oh you are.lucky to have an earth in your life. My son is and I feel much calmer in his company, though I don't see him often. What a wonderful exhibition of opening up your heart and soul to us. (We're air signs, both, which means we spend a lot of time in our heads.) This is not always a bad thing, the flip side might be to do things off of the cuff, giving big moves little thought. Your words on what does inspire you to be who you want to become, could not be anymore GROUNDED. 😁 It's all about the DIRT, DIRT, DIRT. The connection to all of what you speak of, most often occurs when there is no roof over your head. There is a spiritual connection one can make with the earth. Nurturing these feelings only increases the attraction of becoming one with #Nature. (More land, less polished floorboards.) I love this line. We have only moved three times over the past 50 years and every move was made with a few thoughts in mind, does this property provide privacy, does this piece of land work for our current situation, what is our end game. The houses that came with our first two pieces of property were always just big enough, the connection we felt that we could make with the area was why we bought. The third property we purchased is where we live now. From the time we first bought our land, our intentions were never to end up being HOUSE POOR, which seemed to be the way you were headed, before hearing that the home had sold. The house we live in now, I built to accommodate our need for shelter. It fits that need perfectly, 1,200 square feet of room. The great outdoors is where I want to spread my elbows and that kind of sounds like your wishes. Good luck with finding exactly what your heart desires.

The latest is a small shed and a huge olive grove and ocean views!!!! PErhaps too small though, we need to accomodate guests as well... but yes, constantly pulling it back to earth, earth earth!!!!
