Whether you're a "DC fan" or a "fan of Marvel", you have to admit that DC has been picking up their pace and upping their game. Both of these cinematic superhero universes are polar opposites though, but I'd say that one would be lying if they said they don't have a few certain favorites from both these realms.
Even though I grew up watching and reading mostly DC content, I still have my favorites from the Marvel universe too, Spidey, Wolverine, The X-Men, and Hulk being a few of them. I also love the Captain America movies with Chris Evans, especially the second movie, The Winter Soldier.
Yet, the DC universe easily takes the cake for me; the cartoons I grew up watching, especially The Justice League, the comics, theories and different universes of DC that I have explored.
I also have a solid record in the Injustice 2 Mobile community and game, and that game is what brought this little group of ours here today, to watch this movie.
It's funny, how just a measly mobile game connected so many people from all around the world. The group we have here at the theaters today, I met these guys back in 2017, when I was a muscle-head and quite the grind-er. I was also the IGL for our Injustice 2 Mobile Clan.
We have/had members from all around the world, India, Pakistan, Nepal, our own country Bangladesh, a few very talented Mongolian players, many more from the US, UK, Australia, and the many parts of Europe too. It was a vastly spread group, a multicultural army. It wasn't even just about the game for us, we turned into a family soon, having almost 30 to 40 solid members in the end. We all were there for the game, but the love for the DC universe is what really brought us together. Many debates, theories, strategies and arguments were there throughout 2017 and 2018; yet, all of it only brought us together.
We still have that Messenger group of ours up and running, but the game is dead and so is the grind, and non of us are as active now. Every now and then we do conversate in that group chat, but in the end the group that stayed together outside of the game and kept the bond alive, is this group right here and today.

Black Adam was the highlight of the day, it was quite a sudden plan that we cooked up on that week. Sudden plans are not my thing, because they rarely go as planned, but if they do go as planned, then you can expect quite a memorable day.
Fortunately, if it's a movie we're watching, then there's a surefire way of securing the plan and day. If you want everyone to show up, then you better make sure to book the tickets early on haha.
Also, to get some proper seats at the movie theater you would have to book the tickets 3 to 4 days before the show/movie. So we did just that, making sure we got our tickets early on, choosing a suitable time for the show, for which everyone could be punctual and present.

I had my day planned out beforehand, because the movie starts at 7PM on a Thursday, and Thursdays in Dhaka can be chaotic, especially after 5PM.
Luckily, I was home that day and had no work to take care of.
So, I planned to hop on a Pathao(bike ide app) and make haste, leaving my house at around 5PM, so I had 2 hours to cover a distance of 12 kilometers, on one of the busiest days of the week. Even though I had 2 hours in my hand and a fast bike to take me to my destination, I still had my fingers crossed, because you never know what Dhaka has up its sleeves.
One thing me and the rider did right was to not take the usual and common route towards our destination, we took quite a lot of detours and put Google Maps to good use.
After a lot of twists and turns, and after just over an hour of riding through the chaotic parts of Dhaka, we finally reached our destination at 6PM.

Here they are, the boys; four of us got there early, and we ended up waiting for the last man.
We waited in the Cineplex lobby for about 30 minutes or so, caught up with the latest, and then were ready for some DC action. A little "photo session" was much needed as well, it's been a while since we've last met, so I took out my phone and started capturing the moments in a digitalized frame.
I used to be the IGL for our clan, but now it seems that I'm also the main and very random "photo clicker" of the group lol.
Soon enough it was time for us to head in, so we got some popcorn and Pepsi and went right in. We surely were hyped, because the success of Black Adam would act as a stepping stone for the DC Universe and its future.

As you can see from these scenes above, the movie surely does have a few "strongly" aesthetic and artistic features, which isn't something too uncommon for the DC Cinematic Universe.
Even though the movie is about Black Adam and his resurgence, for us DC geeks Dr. Fate quite effortlessly stole the show. Although it seemed that he was nerfed, or at least he held himself back in the movie. Many don't know what Dr. Fate is capable of and how powerful he really is. But in the movie there's something in him that sees the good side of Black Adam, for which he restricts himself, when taking on Black Adam.
Hawkman on the other hand goes all out, and wants nothing more than to hand a solid beating to ~~The Rock's~~ Black Adam's **candy ass**.
Yet, even he does try his best to make Black Adam understand that there are different methods of handling things, and that violence isn't the only option. And Black Adam does understand at one point, but soon enough, he's back again, with his remorseless methods.
Hawkman and Fate, both of their designs and costumes were absolutely spot on I'd say. Even the voice of Fate, it just gives you goosebumps. Pierce Brosnan was also the perfect choice for Fate, I see no other actor who fits the role so well.
Cyclone and Atom Smasher have their moments too, and aren't completely useless, like many of the other new recruits or "sidekicks" we see in other superhero movies.
A lot of jokes to lighten up the mood, a few hints towards the future of the DC Cinematic Universe, are just a few of the things you can expect from this movie.
All in all, we should all keep an eye on DC and its future projects. I just hope they are on the right path this time, actually putting an effort in character/franchise build up, instead of rushing things just to surpass "the competition".

The best part about the movie is probably its length; it's just over 2 hours, which I say is the perfect duration for such a movie. And the movie surely was entertaining, for which it didn't even feel like 2 whole hours, the time just zoomed away.
After we were done with the movie we headed towards Domino's Pizza, one of the mates suggested that Domino's would be perfect option for our dinner. By the time we got to Domino's the clock was already closing in towards 10PM, so we hurried up, finished our food and were on our way home.
Luckily for me, there was a fairly empty bus headed my way, so I just hopped on and snoozed for a bit, and in about 30 minutes I was home.
One hell of a day indeed.
