In my last post about patience I wrote about the common factors of patience. How patience is a trait which sometimes we are handsomely rewarded at birth, with the amount differing from person to person surely. Some, like me for instance and many others, who were not so lucky at birth and had to actually work while waiting towards achieving a certain amount of patience. Slowly with life and its experiences we learn to calm ourselves, learn to wait, always hearing that the good things in life take time. Searching for proof, looking for answers and waiting eagerly to see for ourselves if patience really is as rewarding as some of our elders say it is.

As a flower waits while patiently growing. Hoping to one day ultimately see itself reach the stage of "true beauty" and actually live to attain its true and final form someday. Is the wait, the process really that seamless? No hurdles or barriers along the way? Or is there **ALWAYS** a storm brewing somewhere among the course of life? Waiting to strike at any moment, bringing the process to an abrupt stop. Suddenly, gusting winds and torrential rain unleashed by the storm on that so beautiful and hopeful flower. A storm which absolutely massacres the process and strips the flower of all hope. Shattered dreams, crushed hopes, a disfigured image of the future and the absence of the will to carry on.

**NOW**, who or what is to blame here for such a merciless outcome? Surely not patience, for I don't think patience is so cold-blooded and nor is it capable of such a barbarous act. Who or what is at fault then? Life? Fate? Reality? Just "bad luck" maybe? To me all these mentioned points are basically the same, one way or the other. And sadly no matter how much we try, I guess we will never find the culprit nor get all our questions answered.

I too have a similar story as the dear flower I mentioned above. Times surely have been tough lately, for **ALL** of us around the globe. Yet, for me it has been like this for quite a while, a long and bumpy ride it has been throughout the last decade. I guess I've just reached that stage of life. That phase where things start to become a bit confusing as we set out into the world. Preparing to one day lead our lives and take full control of it.

Yes, many important and even correct steps of my life still didn't take me where I wanted to be. I planned out things differently, I tried many times. Never having a backup, never a plan B, just one plan and sticking to it till the end. I put in the work and the time, waited quite a few years for that one cause, for at least some kind of a positive result. Always being patient to the fullest, having faith in the process, but the many outcomes simply didn't turn out to be in my favor. No matter how hard I tried, no matter the years I invested, the results always came out the same in the end.

Until one day I just decided to let go and choose a different path, start again, anew. And here I am, still alive and well, no regrets to be very honest. Yes, I do sometimes reminisce how things would've turned out if it all went in my favor. But you simply can't have it all can you? So, patience to a degree does work, but never have blind faith in it. You have to know when it's time to simply move on and choose a different path to invest in.

As Albert Einstein once said *"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results"*

Sometimes you just have to let go. No matter the tricks and ideas you have up your sleeves, no matter the talent, maybe even an unlimited amount of patience and determination too. If it's simply no meant to be, then it's going to be that way no matter what. That is why giving up is sometimes the right choice. Maybe life just has something different in mind for us? Maybe... ☮️
