The first prediction in history of a solar eclipse belongs to Thales of Miletus in 585 BC. e. The Greek historian Herodotus wrote that the eclipse of Thales coincided with the time of the battle of the two empires in place of modern Turkey. The eclipse led to the fact that the soldiers laid down their arms and signed a peace treaty, thus ending the 15-year war.
