Miners' Reward Token : A cheap and fun way to speculate on the WAVES Platform?
I've recently been testing and playing around with the WAVES lite client. Really great UI. Easily transfer, trade, and issue custom tokens.

I was looking for a way to speculate on the Waves platform without the risk of holding the native asset Waves, as  it's had an incredible run in the past few months and could possibly be a bit overvalued.

Looking through the built-in Decentralized Exchange I found an asset by the name of 'Miners' Reward Token'. Ticker symbol MRT.

The MRT tokens are currently being distributed to Miners as an incentive for securing the network and validating transaction until the network grows large enough to sustain itself from transaction fees alone. Waves has a fixed supply of 100 million units.

From what I gather in the future asset issuers and users can negotiate with Waves miners to accept their custom token in lieu of the native Waves token as payment for transaction fees. Also MRT will give holders the ability to vote on future changes in regard to transaction fees or other network parameters.

I picked up 10K MRT for around 10 cents each. With a Market Cap of $1,000,000 (Waves marketcap currently sitting at $400,000,000) and a fixed supply of 10 million units. I think MRT might be a cheap way to ride any future surge in the Waves platform.

Just Hodling. From what I understand Mining on Waves isn't really worth it at the moment. That may change if it gains some traction. However, You don't have to be a miner to benefit from the MRT's potential price appreciation.

Just waiting for the right moment.  from all the coins i see on the market, there is no other like waves.  if there is such a coin which has the possibility of going mainstream in a good way, then this is it.  i read about coins and tokens every single day, and from what i see, waves waves has more to offer than any other platform.  It has US, EUR, BTC ETH and waves gateway, plush a decentralized platform already functioning, as well a way to create your own tokens, just like that.   the possibilities are endless with this coin.

A few points:

1. MRT token holders will be able to vote on future network parameters.

2. Asset issuers/users may use the MRT token as a way to determine who to distribute transaction fees which are not denominated in the native token(Waves). 

If the Waves platform becomes more valuable Miners may want to buy and hoard MRT tokens as a way to gain more influence on the platform. 

It may or may not appreciate. This is speculation after all.
