I find it hard to get traction here as a new member

Hello all. I'm pretty new on this site, but one thing I've found on here that is frustrating is that people will often respond to my comments on their posts, but rarely upvote them. The concept of the site is cool, but due to the monetary aspect and the incentives to "suck up" to higher level people, it seems difficult to grind your way out of the lower levels and make yourself someone who "matters" here. Higher level people have very little incentive to upvote the post of a lower level person, because low level people can't provide much impact to their posts.

Perhaps I'm simply using the system wrong, or missing something about the way the site should be used. Any help is appreciated!

There are a few who will comment and not vote, in that case do not return the favour, they will soon loose  out, keep doing what your doing, get involved and interact with members. Try out a challenge  such as #memechallenge to get your name around the site more :) good luck
