Recently, I had been asked to articulate my thoughts about the remake of the classic Stephen King mini series "It". I wasn't quite sure what to say at the moment, but now that I have had some time to think about it, here it is! Keeping in mind that I have not seen the new one, here is what I have to say...

First and foremost, Tim Curry played the original Pennywise...

That dude is awesome, and oozes character from every pore. Who didn't love his performance as the creepy concierge in Home Alone 2? What about his over the top performance in Rocky Horror? IT, is only one of this guys major roles, the dude has been in movies, TV, FMV video games, the list just goes on and on...Saying he is a world class actor would not do him justice, and filling those clown shoes would be a difficult task indeed.

Now, about the remake destroying your childhood....stop it. That is stupid. Did Ocarina of time destroy the original legend of Zelda? Did a female Ghostbusters remake magically destroy all copies of the original? Did Rob Zombies remake of Halloween in any way diminish the brilliance of the original? No, of course none of these things happened. Remakes, reboots, new chapters, these things do NOT go back in time and destroy everything you loved. Those things are still there for you to watch/play/whatever...whenever you like...Don't be stupid...

IN summation, I think the new IT should be seen and enjoyed, and I look forward to doing so. Granted, the new guy is no Tim Curry...but then again, no one is...

Let's give the new IT a chance :D
