Ive really been enjoying his posts so I hope this is a misunderstanding and not my first experience in being straight up gamed:/ even if you turn out to be incorrect you're getting my upvote for bringing attention to this

So I have to lean towards @Rok-sivante on this one, as he has done way more than enough to reassure (at least) me that his intentions are aligned in a way I approve of. he keeps my vote . But that doesn't change my appreciation for the value you bring to the platform as a whole.

thank you for your comment. I just spent 10 minutes discussing this with my fiance, and JUST had received noticed via someone on Slack that YES, I have been put on a bot lit. however, the situation as you describe it is not quite the way it is...

I need to write up an entire story of its own to adequately address this issue, and will do so tomorrow - have spent all day writing and off to bed soon. however, a few key points to address first...

there ARE investors in this site who DO you use bots. they make no secret of this. while the details of how it works are scattered here and there and require a deeper knowledge of how it all works, [this post, "I'm a Steem Whale Looking for Writers"](https://steemit.com/curation/@steemed/im-a-steem-whale-looking-for-writers) spells it out well.

the investors who place writers on their bot lists are not "colluding" as though its any sort of conspiracy. the bots are used as tools to support writers who they've determined to produce VALUABLE content. these investors have invested significant chunks of capital into this site because they believe in the venture - and are ready to back users who are consistently producing content that is of VALUE to the site.

think of it as a sponsorship.

Steemit is NEW and just being built. like ANY new company that's being built, TALENT is required. it takes  "TEAMWORK to make the dream work," as they say. investors are ready to invest in talent who they believe are contributing content to the site that will greatly benefit the community. they're willing to "sponsor" top players, just as there are sponsorships for sports figures or musicians or actors. 

you could also think of it as sort of like being hired for a job. Steemit needs TOP QUALITY content to succeed with its vision. no professional writer is going to write for free. so if the venture needs QUALITY content produced, it needs professional writers. the investors have a stake in the company, thus knowing the value professional writers bring to contribute to the venture's success, and thus are willing to invest in writers who they believe can provide the service/product required to assist the company reach its goals. it's like a form of employment - or sponsorship - though given the unique decentralized nature of the system/platform/ecosystem, the bots are a tool created to serve this purpose of rewarding those who have proven themselves to generate CONSISTENT, QUALITY content.

granted, if I were to slack off, take the opportunity for granted, and start posting absolute shit - I would probably, fairly, get removed from the bot list. the reason I have been placed on it is because an investor has determined that what I've been producing is of value to the community. namely, I've been producing alot of content summarizing my lessons along the journey here, so as to shorten the learning curve for newbies - helping them understand the system better, so they can adapt to the environment, learn the rules of the game, produce greater value for the community, thus becoming successful, and increasing the success of the entire community & platform.

if you choose to view the whole system as rigged, unfair, don't learn the rules of the game, and don't create value - don't expect too much from this site. if you put in the time & energy to learn the culture, understand the system, philosophy, details of how it all works, and invest in your writing skills to produce quality, valuable content over & over, success is inevitable. will all people do that? of course not. so is it fair that they don't receive huge rewards, when they never bothered to learn the rules of the game and make the investment to become of value to the community? YES. IT'S FAIR.

there's method behind the madness, order in the chaos. the system is getting its kinks worked out as we go - this is still in beta, we are early adopters, and there's much progress to be made. 


and frankly, I suspect you didn't even read the post, saying in your comment, "This is a "you can make money like me post". - when the third sentence of the story states outright, "**Just to clarify upfront: this NOT a "you can succeed like I can" post,**" carrying on to explain how much time & energy has gone into producing the results - and that not everybody can or will duplicate such results.

I've been completely transparent and will continue to be - just as the whale investors have with their investment strategy. 

I appreciate your feedback, as it's triggered all this to come out so clarity can be generated around the matter. such misunderstanding doesn't help anyone here. learning the elements of VALUE, learning the rules of the game, cultivating skill, and contributing to the community DOES help EVERYONE here. some people will prefer to play the blame game and delegate responsibility for their own success to an "unfair" system - but they're only fooling themselves by failing to hold themselves accountable to grow the knowledge & skill sets required for success. and that's just as equally true in any entrepreneurial undertaking or activity as it is on Steemit - same reason 95% of people fail at any business.
